 Close Caption Your Quake 4

I just spotted on Quake 4 Files that the Quake4[CC] Mod (v0.6) was released.
Games[CC] was created by Reid Kimball to develop tools and software to close caption games. Closed captions are under utilized in games today where they can help hard of hearing, deaf or players not familiar with the game's native language to understand dialog and action communicated through sound effects.

Over on Soffiles the featured map is Devil's Shop, which is a multiplayer map by Putrefy_Devil.
Here's a nice new version of the Shop Invasion map. There have been made some serious changes in the map, the elevator we all know of actually works in this version. It's really fun. There's now a monorail track running through the map too. Go have a look at and it see if you like it. It's really worth to try.

If you ever wanted some Wavy Sabers, now is a good time to get one for Jedi Academy.
Well this is a simple saber mod. It makes your blade become wavy. Simple, easy to do, and yet it still looks cool. So that's basically what I can say, except why not continue on this idea and make different saber blades?

fui Mayan Desert is a multiplayer map for Soldier of Fortune 2, designed by {FUI}steko ni,uk.
The map is based on a desert theme, wide open spaces with enough cover for some very good frag fun. The map supports a host of game types and supports the Goldrush Mod.

Sorry about the title. Haahaa! falcon1991 released RPG Hilt Pack Version 1.3 for Jedi Academy. Unfortunately there's no screenshots and the 17mb download contains no readme. What's wrong with some mod authors these days? Totally unacceptable. I guess this is like one of those grab bags... you don't know what you're going to end up with. This could be the best hilt mod ever, yet most people won't download due the lack of screens.

Some unknown mapper made this Headfirst For Heroes map that is made for Quake 4 deathmatch. Too bad the author neglected to make a readme, so we could at least know who made the map. For a sec I thought the guy's name was 'Unknown' but I downgrabbed the level and there's no info. heh. Yeah Map Factory.

I honestly have no idea who the hell Barret Wallace is exactly, but Sanj made him into a Jedi Academy skin.
Who's not familiar with Barret? Anyone? Well, I'm sure there's someone, so here's a brief (and barely coherent) synopsis. Arm busted up, replaced with gun. Bossy S.O.B. who likes taking charge, but has a lighter side to him as well, most notably his affection towards his adopted daughter, Marlene.
Wha? I still don't know who this guy is, but if you want a Barret Wallace skin, that's up to you. Yup Jedi Knight Files. Seriously, only Wallace I know is of the Wallace & Gromit team. Ahhh the Were Rabbit! Funny stuff.

Shotguns at Dawn is a Quake 4, Deathmatch level by Draxel.
Shotguns at Dawn is a space map with many jump pads and is inspired from a Quake 3 map that I have never released. The original map was intended for more players. It was never finished and much of it was used in this map. This map was also inspired by the Longest Yard(q3dm17). It was intended to capture some of the fun elements of The Longest Yard while still providing a different flavor of gameplay.

 Shadowing Hate: JED505 Bot Revealed

Over on Quake 4 Files the Shadowing Hate mod team sent in some screens and an 4mb Xvid of a large bot named JED505.
Some may remember a little Deus Ex influenced mod called Shadowing Hate. It's still in the works and we've had a new enemy model on the website for a few months now. A large bot named JED505, at 1600 triangles and currently boasting a 2048x2048 texture with low-res cubemap reflection and subtle detail mapping blend. If all goes well it will also feature as a controllable "vehicle" via a computer GUI.

UK sLaVo released a multiplayer map for Soldier of Fortune II called UK VOK.
A great map in the style of Valley of Kings. The idea is the same, the layout is different. Much different. It's very big and full. There are buildings and structures all over the place and you can even take a walk underground. Most buildings are open so you can enter them. This will make indoors battles possible too and gives a nice twist to the standard sniping games.

 Tyrael's Improved Biker Scout

Tyrael64 released his Tyrael's Improved Biker Scout skin for Jedi Academy.
Whether or not this skin is a perfect representation of the scout trooper or not, I think it looks better, and by no means am I saying Monsoontide's original was poorly made. It was a wonderful model with a wonderful skin, however this particular reskin takes that wonderful base skin and adds on to it, using the best bits of Monsoontide's work and giving it a little more depth and a bit more realness.

 Grievous Command Ship (v2)

daral-zand released a Jedi Knight Outcast, FFA map that is called, Grievous Command Ship (v2).
The map is a very playable guns FFA environment which still manages to capture the essence of the ship (albeit loosely). The layout works smoothly, plenty of movement space, and plenty of exploration routes. One bad side for no-force servers - you need Jump level 3 for some of the exploration. Power-ups, weapons and ammo are placed pretty specifically, as one would expect from deathmatch. So, in a nutshell, if you like Q3, Battlefront or UT's gun gameplay style, this map should interest you.

 Don't Put Me In The Brig Captain!

The Anti-Brig Mod for Voayger Elite Force makes it so you can kill members of Voyager and avoid going to the brig.
This is a funny mini-mod by Vincentlammeren which basically disables the script which makes the AI in Virtual Voyager shoot at you as soon as you kill a crew member. You neither have to go to the brig any more after kiling someone. So for those of you who always wanted to kill the one or another annoying EF character, this is your chance.

SP Style (v4) is a mod for Quake 4 that tries to add the feel and style of Quake 4's singleplayer mode to multiplayer. Not sure exactly what that means... Anyhow, the mod requires the Quake 4 1.3 point release to play. That mod is available on Quake 4 Files.

If you fancy setting up Soldier of Fortune 2 with an all female team you can downgrab Tricky's Females and trick out the game.
24 in this set low file size. It's really nothing new used 4 of the Female bodies we all have: Snow, Colombian, Taylor & HK Thug. I just changed the heads to make 6 of them per body. So my Sista's can have different clothes to pick from. We get bored with one outfit!

Rich Whitehouse made a Jedi Outcast mod called Saber Man that changes the Jedi Master in the gametype of the same name.
This mod changes the rules of the Jedi Master gametype, and turns the Jedi Master into a man made purely of sabers. When killed, saberman explodes in multiple rays of saber death and kills everyone in the area. Saber Man can also inflict damage by touching and rolling into enemies.

DeltaCTF 1.0 sounds like a map but is in fact a mod that improves the CTF game mode in Quake 4.
The DeltaCTF team has found the default Capture the Flag gametype present in Quake 4 to be devoid of many key game features and design elements which the CTF community has come to love and depend on for over a decade. This foundation created over the years by community created a well-recognized gametype where in Quake reached its peak during the era of Q2CTF. Over the years the degradation of this gametype has lead to the current crisis where the Quake CTF Community no longer has a playground to play in. Delta CTF hopes to resolve this by implementing those features in which CTF fans desire to see once again in Capture the Flag.

 Lizard Made Husky Skin

={MA}=TheLizard made a furry skin for Jedi Academy that's in the form of a Husky.
Well it's black and white, like a Husky. But most Huskies tend to be black and white and have shades of gray in between. They also don't have just white on their bellies and just black on top. They have it all over. In fact, you might say that the color scheme for this is totally inaccurate. But one could also point out that the colors on a dog's pelt vary, so we could very well have a black and white Husky.

Anubis is an Elite Force, deathmatch map that's designed to be used with the Gladiator mod.
Like the map title already indicates this map is set in a very nice and rather uncomon Egypt theme. It is designed for Gladiator, however this is as well nicely playable in FFA matches, I've had quite some fun with this. Definately recommended.

Arious is a Duel map for Jedi Academy and here is a bit of what the reviewer had to say about it.
Presenting to you one of the most scenic and playable duel maps we've had in a while. This map strikes the balance between eye candy and usefulness quite well, looking good and having almost no impact on performance. The general concept is a forest clearing, with the obligatory waterfall, and some ruins.

Krater1 is a multiplayer map for Quake 4, designed by TanK.
A dark Cavern on the planet Krater lined with ancient ruins and future technologies. Find the secret relic of the ancients to gain an advantage in combat. Supply Stations have been built to supply soldiers in the battlefield.

Pompeii is a multiplayer map for Soldier of Fortune 2, designed by Sir Paul.
The map is constructed on two areas red base and blue base. The are plenty of buildings for cover and some of the buildings allow access for snipers and supprise attacks. There are two towers located in each section, again a good vantage point for the wanna be snipers out there.

 The Sound Of Poop

lonnie tompkins released a sound mod for Soldier of Fortune 2 that's called 20 Seconds to Poop 2006.
The Last sound mod we created had 350 sounds in it. Half was adult content. This one this adult content has been removed and replaced and 60 more sounds added to it. So the grand total for this sounds mod is 410.
