It shows our Alpha Build 2 in action, along with the official Q4F Theme Song, "Zero Gravity (Instramental)" by Mind Shelter.
So check out that video if you have'nt already over on Quake 4 Fortress.

Shequi's Urban Socom is a weapons skin for the Soldier of Fortune II socom, of course and apparently it looks nice in-game (see the two screenshots). That's all on Soffiles.

 Tyran and Mantle
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 9:51 AM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Scerendo Tyran released Tyran and Mantle, which is a skin mod for Jedi Academy that includes a Human male and a Twi'lek female reskin. There's one screenshot to check out over there if you're interested. I downgrabbed the file to see if there was more info in the .zip but alas the author didn't include a readme. That file is available on PC Gamemods.

Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:34 AM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

If you ever wanted to get rid of the white core in your saber and go all funky with a solid colored blade, you can do just that by hitting Jedi Knight Files and downgrabbing the Whiteless Saber mod that M.Combat released for Jedi Academy.

 Don't Lose Your Arsenal
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 6:14 PM
Category: Voyager: Elite Force

Arsenal is an Elite Force mod that is made for deathmatch. Here is a good description of what the mod is about:
In the Arsenal Mod, You start out with an Arsenal of weapons pre-determined by the server admin, unlimited ammo and If you die your weapon is dropped (free for anyone to salvage) and you dont get it back. The Object is not to let your arsenal empty out. If you run out of weapons you are out of the game until the next round.
Check out that Arsenal mod thanks to Elite Force Files.

Dammit I had news all typed up and then realised it was for Elite Force 2....bummer. Anyhow this is more interesting as the RAA Team released a new Requiem Avenging Angel Trailer over on Quake 4 Files. The trailer is 36mb and shows 9 of the 12 powers that'll be available to Malachi.

 Quake 4 Max 0.76b Released
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 6:45 PM
Category: Quake IV

Quake 4 Max 0.76b was released and is a Quake 4 mod that's designed to make the game more suited for competitions.
We have had a few new noticeable issues in the 0.76 release, and we decided they were significant enough to warrant an update. This is considered a "minor" release because it mainly takes care of these issues, and fixes a few extra bugs.
Check out that Quake 4 Max 0.76b release.

 Sith Duel
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 6:46 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Mado_Freak released a Jedi Academy level that's called: Sith Duel.
Well, here's a nice little map. Compact, streamlined, and not a whole lot of eye candy, but it still manages to look pretty good. For a first map, that's a pretty good accomplishment.
That's all on Jedi Knight Files.

 Tap Into Some Multiplayer
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:56 PM
Category: Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix

Tap is a Soldier Of Fortune 2, multiplayer map that allows you to play ontop and within a billiards table.
I have enlarged a billiards table so you can get inside the table and explore everything. In fact this billiards table stands in the veranda from my first map My Home.
That's on Soffiles.

Delta CTF Mod Beta 5 Released
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 12:15 PM
Category: Quake IV

Quake 4 Files has the downgrab for the newly released Quake4 1.3 compatible version of the Delta CTF Mod.
The DeltaCTF team has found the default Capture the Flag gametype present in Quake 4 to be devoid of many key game features and design elements which the CTF community has come to love and depend on for over a decade. This foundation created over the years by community created a well-recognized gametype where in Quake reached its peak during the era of Q2CTF. Over the years the degradation of this gametype has lead to the current crisis where the Quake CTF Community no longer has a playground to play in. Delta CTF hopes to resolve this by implementing those features in which CTF fans desire to see once again in Capture the Flag.
Check out that Delta CTF Mod.

 Rurouni Kenshin: Progression
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 9:04 AM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

It seems that the Rurouni Kenshin: Redemption site was updated just recently and according to Griswald the Jedi Academy TC has seen major progression. Apparently the old Kenshin model was released and a new one is being worked on, they added brittleness to weapons so the break, a new blocking system is in development, Shishio's Arena is coming to a finish (including a coop version). Also some work is being done on the site and we can expect screenshots soon. Check out the Rurouni Kenshin: Redemption site for the full update info.

 Amoq4 mod (1.3)
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 7:46 PM
Category: Quake IV

Amoq4 mod (1.3) is a Quake 4 mod that.... just read the description in the quote:
This is multiplayer mod for Quake 4 that balances weapons to make combat more fast'n'furious, brings some single player game features into multiplayer (like reloading, flashlight, guided nails and rockets), and adds new weapons: flamethrower, poison grenades, ESG and Shredder.
Check out that multiplayer mod over on Quake 4 Files.

Going Blindly Into The San Fransisco Meeting Hall
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 10:47 PM
Category: Voyager: Elite Force

San Fransisco Meeting Hall is a RPG level for Voyager Elite Force. Apparently they didn't add any screenshots on the page for the map. Not sure why.
This is the first map that FarCry has released, so he can get feedback on it and so other people can see what will be in the next 2 versions of it. This map is basically headquarters. Beginning with a train at entry, the main building includes a shuttlebay/cargo bay, a few bathrooms, a hallway overlooking the entrance, and a big mess hall for parties and such. It is an overall good map.
So go forth and don't squint at the page trying to find the screens... Oops, nearly forgot the olde Elite Force Files linkage.

 Beware The Lava On Taspiry
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 5:57 AM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Taspiry is a FFA level for Jedi Academy that is one of those 'contest levels'.
Okay, well first off, it's based on taspir, so there's a lot of lava. In fact, the majority of the map is either lava or mountains. The map itself consists of many duel platforms, and a couple of buildings. You can only enter one of the buildings, and it has a nice hole in the middle with lava in it, so watch your step.
Take a look at Taspiry over on Jedi Knight Files.

Time To Get High and Dry
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 11:12 AM
Category: Quake IV

I was poking around and ended up on PlanetQuake. Seems they added their first Quake 4 map to the Level Of The Week list back in late July with High and Dry.
This one uses the stock compliment of Quake 4 textures to create a metal look and feel that has a simple overall look, until you look a little closer. I suggest taking a closer look when there isn't somebody running around trying to stick a rocket into your carcass though. So on closer inspection, the map is chock full of little extra pipes and such to not only carry the theme but to add to the gameplay.
By the way, the level is designed by Pat "pjw" Williams of Raven Software and was made while Quake 4 was being developed. Go read the rest of the info on High and Dry and get the downgrab.

Stroggos Is A Dim World No Longer
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:50 PM
Category: Quake IV

If you find Quake 4 dark, then you should see Doom 3.... no, I mean you should check out this Ambientlightmod for Quake 4 v1.3.
With the mod becomes from the flashlight a ambientlight by which the immediate area is illuminated around the play figure. The flashlight sits on every weapons, but can be switched on and off only with the blaster or the machinegun.
That mod is available thanks to Quake 4 Files.

 Urban Shop (1.0)
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 12:47 PM
Category: Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix

Check out Urban Shop (1.0) over on Soffiles. The map is designed for Soldier of Fortune II multiplayer (24 players recommended).
The map is made up from parts of maps you will know and play already, there are plenty of palces to explore in this map, you have an underground garage which gives you quick access to the enemies flag and plenty of inside areas as well, so good spots for you snipers as well.
The eight available screenshots of Urban Shop (1.0) certainly look nice.

Stupid Angry Bot Alpha 10 Released
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:37 PM
Category: Quake IV

TinMan released Sabot a10 (Stupid Angry Bot Alpha 10) for Quake 4 multiplayer.
It rises again from the grave to forever taunt me. Just a quick update to 1.3, but SABot had been previously shifted to the new fake-client framework which was a lot cleaner and stable. The ai code it still the horrible stuff that hasn't had any major overhaul since a7/doom3. But whatever, it works.
Check out Sabot a10.

 Been Smoking Too Long
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 10:34 PM
Category: Voyager: Elite Force

Lt. Cmdr. Salinga released anouther Quake 3 conversion map for Voyager Elite Force. This one is called Been smoking too long.
The architecture has a geocomp feel to it with just enough geometric accents: floor lights, ceiling details, large pipes, staircase supports, custom teleporter, etc. The cell-shading doesn't help in the framerate department, but as long as you're not running a lowend box, you should be fine. Open air rooms and hallways give lots of room to move. Bots play well. This is a beautiful map and a keeper.
Check that map out on Elite Force Files.

 The Kelfiirian Invasion
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 10:43 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Tyrael64 released a model for Jedi Academy that is a completely new species and is called Kelfiirian.
A Kelfiirian looks kind of humanoid, with an almost bug-like head and two antennae protruding from it. They are, in fact, a second set of eyes, so that the alien has a better view behind and around him. The species has a red, blue or green skin and a very long tail, which ends in a razor sharp bone, kind of like the Alien (from the identical-named film). Its feet resemble those of a bird of prey.
That's all on Jedi Knight Files.

 Force Cannon (Beta 1.0)
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 6:56 AM
Category: Quake IV

Some anonymous dude released a Force Cannon (Beta 1.0) that replaces the gauntlet/blaster.
I got bored and made this weapon.. it replaces the gauntlet/blaster the weapon is named the Force Cannon, it impacts instantly, does massive damage+splash damage, has infinite ammo, the weapon also charges up. It's mainly meant for an insta-gib type play. It is by no means "finished", I figured i'd release it in a Beta version first see if anyone is even interested in it.
The file is available on Quake 4 Files.

 Deck 21 (Final)
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 7:20 PM
Category: Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix

Deck 21 (Final) is a Soldier of Fortune 2, multiplayer map that has something of a Doom 3 theme going on.
This map is very much so based around the Doom 3 theme. The map is very dark and spooky just like the aforementioned. There are plenty of dark corners for you to hide in and await your next kill. The author has also tried to make the lighting suitable to give you the atmosphere, with shadows and very nicely placed sounds.
That map is available for download on Soffiles.

Category: Quake IV

Over on PlanetQuake4 they posted up a Quake4 1v1 Finals & Awards Video from QuakeCon that shows the final match between SK|toxic and mouz.Cooller.
The video was shot from the front row of the conference room where the tournament was being held. The video pans between a close up of SK|toixic and his monitor screen and a wide angle of mouz.Cooller and the projector screen showing SK|toxic's action. Video of the introduction of the players to the huge crowd on hand and video of the award ceremony is also included.
The video is 24 minutes long, runs at 1280x720 and is 357.70 MB.

 Amanda Amanda Amanda!!!
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 1:47 PM
Category: Voyager: Elite Force

Amanda is a deathmatch level for Voyager Elite Force that is designed by Lt. Cmdr. Salinga.
This map is quite nice, not just because it was made for the author's wife (aww how sweet), but because it has a cool design. It looks like it belongs in EF, as it resembles some sort of Romulan Installation. There are hearts throughout the map, and "Amanda" is written in the map. Download now to add to the Salinga Collection, or to see the nice gift the author gave to his wife!
That level is available on Elite Force Files.

 Grab Some New Custom Crosshairs
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 12:00 AM
Category: Voyager: Elite Force

Sniper released a small Custom Crosshairs mod for Voyager Elite Force.
Here's another set of cross hairs by Sniper, these were made by request and are quite good for fragging as they really stand out. Like the previous Custom Crosshairs, these replace the default ones. The crosshairs in this pack are blue and green, and kind of small. If you are getting tired of the generic ones that are in EF, then download now!
That is on Elite Force Files.

 New Shadowtrooper v2
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 12:39 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Phantom released a New Shadowtrooper (v2) skin for Jedi Academy and here is some of what the reviewer had to say:
In a quick summary, large parts of the Shadowtrooper's armor have been recolored silver, and covered with a shader providing a slight shine. Other parts have been changed to various colors to make some nice variations. Included colors are green, blue, red, orange, purple, teal and yellow. The author has also provided the options to use this as a seperate entry in the model selection, and to overwrite the original Shadowtrooper. Singleplayer support has also been included, as have the original JK2 sounds.
So check out that New Shadowtrooper (v2).
