STRP Runabout For Elite Force

Elite Force Files has a Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force RPG map that is named STRP Runabout amongst thier new files. Here is a clip from the review: A pretty map to add to your RPG map collection. The map covers most of the Rp essentials such as opening panels, lcars + sounds, warp, and of course an away mission. That away mission is one of my favourite parts of the map. Although it is not very "technical" the away mission has a nice and scary feel too it and has plenty of stuff for people to explore and for roleplayers to make storylines on. So beam yourself over to this waypoint and check it all out.

There was anouther informative interview with Kenn Hoekstra since his departure from Raven Software. Here is a clip from the interview that's on Fragland: Take No Prisoners was probably the most interesting for me because it was the first game I’d ever worked on. The whole experience was just amazing because I learned so much. Hexen II: Portal of Praevus was cool because that was my first experience with the Quake technology. Elite Force was cool because of my big history as a Trek fan. Hell, they were all interesting for one reason or another. No two projects were alike and that’s what made working on them fun. It's an interesting read so go ahead and read the rest of the interview.

Interview With Kenn Hoekstra

Category: Raven Software |
I spotted on Blues News that there's a brand new interview with Kenn Hoekstra on Experience Gaming. My hiring at Raven was a classic case of being in the right place at the right time. I got to know some people at Raven (namely Eric Biessman) and they got me an interview for an open level design position. In the pre-Activision days, it was a lot easier to get a train-to-hire position at Raven (and in the games industry in general) and that’s basically what happened. I was hired as a project. I have no trouble admitting that if the Kenn from 1997 showed up at Raven’s doorstep today, there’s no way he could get hired. It really was a stroke of luck and I was extremely happy to get hired. I was managing a University restaurant and it was, to say the least, fairly thankless work. I was more than happy to trade 80+ hours a week in a shirt and tie for 80+ hours a week in jeans and a t-shirt. The interview with the former Project Administrator for Raven Software is a good read and definitely recommended to all you Raven fans like myself. GO Kenn! :)
