Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 9:45 PM
Category: Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix

Here is a multiplayer map for Soldier of Fortune that is called BK House Fight that was released by dgx.
Like a little sniper map: house to house.
That map is on Soffiles.

 Cyber Trooper And Sword
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 10:26 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Over on Jedi Knight Files there's a model pack for Jedi Academy called Cyber Trooper and Sword that was put together by Seancsnm and Tobe
Behold, for it is a human merc reskin to envision a strange new trooper of some sort. The concept itself is interesting, but it sort of lost me. Suffice to say, however, the skinning is excellent, as per usual. Even the skin texture on the previously covered arms looks pretty good. The thing that pretty much lost my favor is the team skins and basically one aspect of the skin.
Read more about that Cyber Trooper and Sword model pack, check out the three screens and then download it, or not....

 Jedi Dojo
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:37 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Now that you have your female ninja skin on, you might as well hit the olde Jedi Dojo.
Imagine a huge room, dojo style. Fill it with Reborn after Reborn, and that's what you get with this file. To get to the map, you have to manually switch to it, which is a bit annoying, but something that I can live with. The overall difficulty is average for ladder maps.
Hit Jedi Knight Files and see about that Jedi Dojo.

 Get Your Femme Ninja Skin
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:20 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

If you ever wanted to be a female ninja jedi, then check out Ninja_Fem by skin author wasp17.
This skin could really use some work to get the pieces to blend together better. Other than that, I think this skin is kinda cool, especially since it is a female ninja, something you don't see too horribly often.
Grab that skin off of Jedi Knight Files.

 The Ancient Truth Revealed
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 7:29 PM
Category: Quake IV

The Ancient Truth is a mod for Quake 4 that I just happened to find. Can't say I've heard of this one before.
Upon their arrival near the planet, the special forces, founds a big Strogg spaceship that took advantage of the distraction of Human's ships and left the planet Stroggos for escapes in the open space, so the special forces ship begins a pursuit of the Strogg's ship with the aim of destroying it. The battle begins, but the Strogg's ship is too strong to quickly damages the Human's ship which loses control and falls, due to the force of gravity, on a deserted planet very close to them. The impact is very strong and, fortunately, there are several survivors scattered so the Strogg decide to land on the planet to kill all the Humans remained. The adventure begins as a classic mission for survival but everything changes when, exploring the planet, you find something in the depths of it, the Ancient Truth is being revealed.
Have a look at The Ancient Truth. According to their last news entry... it's August 21, 2008 or there's 21 months in a year. O_o

 Featured Mod Gathers No Moss
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 10:53 AM
Category: Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix

I was just on Soffiles and the featured mod over there is this I.C.S. 2.1 (International Crime Syndicate). How long that was sitting there as featured mod.... since the thing is a couple years old. The Raven news is at an all time low and it seems like the Filefront sites don't have much going on these days.
ICS enhances the familiar SOF II 'action' experience with a new theme, expanded scenarios, game-modes, commercial quality level and sound design, and all new feature content. Smoothing out SOF II's rough edges ICS offers a feature rich higher quality game.
If it wasn't for the Filefront sites, there wouldn't be much news at all. Raven's website hasn't been updated since 2006 and thier Blog was last updated a year ago. Site's like Space Station K7 seem to be dead in the water. I'll shut up now but this is all there is. Have a good day.

 Fix Your Uniform Cadet!
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 10:01 PM
Category: Voyager: Elite Force

This Valiant Cadet Mod (0.2) is the featured mod on Elite Force Files. It changes the Starfleet Academy cadet uniforms in singleplayer. The readme explains it all out better than I can so hitch a ride over there and see what the deal is.

 UFG-City (1.0)
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 1:44 PM
Category: Voyager: Elite Force

If you like those Elite Force RPG maps, then maybe you should be aware that Ferengi released this UFG-City (1.0) map.
City, is a reasonably small map which contains buildings that very much resemble Military outposts of a few years ago. These include a shower block, toilets, barracks and an administrative building - the latter not to be confused with Server administration. While not a starship or feeling much like a Federation area - this map could definitely come in useful for RPs which involve away missions.
You can get that map off of Elite Force Files.

 Gensun - Gray Jedi (1.0)
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:22 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Over on Jedi Knight Files skin author Exodus_1161 uploaded this Gensun - Gray Jedi (1.0) skin file for use in Jedi Academy.
There is a robed version, and then one with a more armoured appearance. The characters skin has been turned blue, and the clothing has been made grey, but there are still hints of colour in the trim and belt, so the skin hasn’t simply been de-saturated, it’s been done properly.
Check out that skin on Jedi Knight Files.

 Battle Facility v2.0
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:04 PM
Category: Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast

Over on Jedi Knight Files there's a map for Jedi Outcast (Free For All) that is called Battle Facility that was made by Sir_Ryan and is the 2nd version of the level.
The layout is the same as the last version as far as I could see, but that’s fine, since the layout was good originally anyway. This would make an excellent map for medium sized FFA’s and TFFA’s because of the cover available in various places and the small bunkers. It would also be good as a saber-training map because of the platforms and walkways.
Go grab some Battle Facility.

 Night Skin
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:32 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Trull released this Night skin for Jedi Academy.
It's a Swamptrooper desaturated and darkened to have black armor, with various things slapped on the body. You'd think that the lack of blending would lower the quality, but to be honest, they are placed in such a way that makes them look good anyway. The flames on the backs of the knees seemed a bit pointless, but everything else was pretty cool, actually.
That skin is available on Jedi Knight Files.

 Rushed Conversion
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 7:35 PM
Category: Voyager: Elite Force

Lt. Cmdr. Salinga released Rushed and is a conversion of a Quake III: Arena level.
For a HM level, its pretty standard in terms of structure, but has a nice new set of textures with lighter greys and lots of yellow and black warning strips. What really gives this map an added bonus is bot support, something that many recent maps have lacked. The previously mentioned sky of fire is a good effect and you certainly get a feel that its HOT on this map!
That's all for now. The map is available on Elite Force Files.

 Lets Call It Lockdown
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 4:58 PM
Category: Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix

Rebel released another multiplayer map. This one is called vv_lockdown (VaudVillany {USA} Headqua) but I'm just gonna call it Lockdown.
{Vv}_lockdown is a really nice map, it's laid out in such a way that it will have you thinking you are playing the map mp_shop2. But in other ways it is nothing like that map at all. I have blended some of that map "mp_shop2"! Into the vv_lockdown map but not totaly made it look that way. This version is a {Vv} original shop3_lockdown, the way I feel that it should have been made from the start. This is my own creation of the map and I hope you enjoy it.
Lockdown is made for Soldier Of Fortune 2 Gold and is made for Soffiles.

 Lost Temple
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 7:22 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

The featured map on Jedi Knight Files is Lost Temple by Shaka. The map is made for Free For All and here is bit of what the reviewer (Averus Retruthan) has to say about the level:
To preface, this map can be summed up in one word basically: Majestic. This temple has been well-crafted, both technically and creatively for the most part.
Head on over to the Lost Temple.

 Train Line 1.0
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:00 PM
Category: Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix

Rebel released a multiplayer map called Train Line for Soldier of Fortune 2 Gold.
It is meant to be played as a Camper or as a map that you can run and gun in. But hold no thoughts in the back of your mind that you mite make it from one side to the other without being cut down by a player waiting in a box car. This map is a map that will test your skillz as a player with a lot of quick reflexses and a sharp eye. I have added a new game type to this map.
Hit that map on Soffiles.

 Get A Grip
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 9:47 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Gamemaster24 released his grip on version 2.0 of his Telekinesis mod for Jedi Academy. The mod changes the force grip effects.
It changes the name from Grip to Telekinesis, of course, but also changes the grip stance to the push stance (At least, that's what I think it was), and makes the enemies flail their arms when picked up. It was also supposed to change the sound, but I found that the audio file was not working for it.
That be on Jedi Knight Files and that is all I know.

 Alien Quadrilogy Ellen Ripley (0.51)
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 9:32 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

If you ever wanted to go all Sigourney in Jedi Knight Files now you can thanks to Jora Custov releasing Alien Quadrilogy Ellen Ripley (0.51).
All four outfits are extremely accurate to their movie equivalents, down to as much detail as I can get from DivX files. Assuming Jora had the same to work with, I'd say a fantastic job has been done on these. Especially liking the Alien Resurrection outfit, which is not only the most detailed of the five but also the most detailed in the movies - by comparison, the other four are somewhat plain and simple, and thus easier to reproduce as textures.
Take a tour of that Alien Quadrilogy Ellen Ripley (0.51) jobby.

 TrueCarnage Season 1 CTF
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 7:55 PM
Category: Quake IV

Quake 4 Files seems to be slowing down in the Quake 4 uploads so I took a look at some of the older files and this TrueCarnage Season 1 CTF one looks interesting if you're into watching a video of some CTF action.
The movie for the first season is released. Suffering graciously agreed to make the movie and did a fantastic job. Thanks to those of you who submitted demos with the shots marked. We hope to be able to do the same thing for Season 2 so keep track of any spectacular shots or flag runs, holy shits etc.
Have a look at that on Quake 4 Files.

 Colony Wars: SOL
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 10:07 PM
Category: Voyager: Elite Force

sorbet has been busy and released Colony Wars: SOL which is a Capture The Flag map for Elite Force.
Colony Wars: SOL is the finale to this expansive and enjoyable series of maps for good ol' Holomatch. Like Hyperion Station - this map very much reminds me of Stargate: Atlantis, maybe be even a little more so than the former. Again however, this is a nicely sized map and is a great send off to what has been an extremely enjoyable series of maps - that will no doubt be missed.
Grab that map off of Elite Force Files.

 Disintegration Mod (1.3)
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 9:25 PM
Category: Quake IV

TeaLc released a Quake 4 mod that's called Disintegration Mod (1.3).
This mod takes the basic idea from instabig and makes it a faster, funner, and funnier game. This mod was also inspired by a little old game called Star Trek:Elite Force.
Disintegration Mod (1.3) is available on Quake 4 Files.

 Colony Wars: Hyperion Station
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 10:00 PM
Category: Voyager: Elite Force

sorbet released Colony Wars: Hyperion Station which is a Capture The Flag map for Elite Force that requires the expansion.
Hyperion Station is a fairly sized map which reminded me somewhat of Atlantis from Stargate: Atlantis. Designed for Capture the Flag and with a few different vantage points - this map marks the end of a significant battle in the back-story for Colony Wars and most definitely doesn't disappoint in terms of playability.
Get that map off of Elite Force Files.

 Two-Fort: Nar Shaddaa (Beta 1)
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 9:22 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Two-Fort: Nar Shaddaa (Beta 1) is a Capture The Flag map for Jedi Academy that was created by The Crazy Assassin. Here is a bit of what the review person (Kouen) has to say about it
What's I liked is that there's no abundance of unnecessary eye candy. A small droid hovering over the bridge and that's it, the rest of the map is all about CTF. The architecture is all very clean-cut, texturing is neat and logical. Lighting is done down to an art, plenty of shader lights and it all looks steady, no sources though except for aforementioned shaders. There's a few gameplay niggles - the aforementioned droid will allow a skilled acrobat a quick way between bases - but overall it's traditional CTF.
You can find that map on Jedi Knight Files.

 Q4 Duct Tape 1.2
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 2:27 PM
Category: Quake IV

Dafama2K7 has returned once again with version 1.2 of the Q4 Duct Tape mod. I decided to list the changes here so you wouldn't have to go searching.
  • Upgraded the weapon mounted flashlights textures to a more realistic ones.
  • Fixed player marine without head bug!
  • Fixed bug introduced by me in the MP mode that made the weapons droppedby an enemy dead to not rotate themselves, that is the default vehabiour on MP.
  • Updated the NapalmGun compatibility .pk4 file.
  • Added a transparent console for a beautiful final touch. :D
  • Added latest tweaked Chromatic Dispersion shaders from TheRealSceneGraphManager.
  • Added latest NG shaders.
That is all on Quake 4 Files. Where else would it be?

 Badlands Jungle
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:06 PM
Category: Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix

Rebel wants you to kill one another in this Badlands (Jungle) multiplayer map that requires Soldier of Fortune 2 Gold.
This map is set in the jungle and is realy cool, it has everything a sniper is looking for in the way of stalking your enemys and showing them your sniper skills. It also has under ground bunkers and some nice caves to move around the map in, to throw off your enemys in the heat of battle. It should do well and it will give you many hours of enjoyment.
That be on Soffiles.

 Final Favela Rising Brazil
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 7:59 PM
Category: Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix

Douglas Giovany released a multiplayer map for Soldier of Fortune 2 that goes by the name Favela Rising Brazil and is the final version.
To do this map I first thought in a idea to do a original thing. Cause is really difficult to made something different, so, I began a favela theme and found a problem: How I do this without new textures? This map needed some authentical brazilian things, like wood walls and brick walls or some new windows and doors.
You can grab the map off of Soffiles.

 Colony Wars: Last Warship
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 7:41 PM
Category: Voyager: Elite Force

The other day I mentioned Colony Wars: Last Warship and now sorbet has released Colony Wars: Doomsday. The map is designed for capture the flag and is made for Elite Force and requires the expansion pack.
Consisting of a massive fleet, the map is fairly large and reminded me somewhat of the Attrexian station in Elite Force Two, despite the only similarity being the colours used.
You can find that map on Elite Force Files.

 Raven Office 2nd Floor
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 9:48 PM
Category: Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix

Time to hit Soffiles to check out Raven Office - 2nd Floor, which is a multiplayer map for Soldier Of Fortune 2 that was released by microbi.
Eh..started this multiplayer map AGES ago...always some problems so I quit. But now after 1 year+ I "made it". This is basicly raven office with 2nd floor. I cut "stuff" out to make the file smaller. P
Grab some of that Raven Office - 2nd Floor map.

 Time For Some Recon
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 7:51 PM
Category: Quake IV

I was looking around PlanetQuake and Phantazm11 has his Reconnaissance in the Quake 4 section.
First of a three part mini-episode for Quake 4 set in a facility on the edge of the Stroggian desert, Guridian. (This is a beta version of the first map of a three-map series).
Yeah check out some Reconnaissance.
