 No Wolfenstein For 2007
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 7:48 PM
Category: Wolfenstein

EuroGamer reports that the word from Todd Hollenshead of id Software is that there won't be any Wolfenstein in 2007.
"Raven is still developing it," Hollenshead reassured us yesterday. "I hope we'll be able to have some more news about the game within a reasonably short period of time. We made the announcement that the 360 was the primary development platform - that hasn't changed, but it is in development for the PC as well.

It's Spring And It's Time For Your Fairy Skin
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 2:18 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Now would be a good time to get your Fairy Skin if you're into that kind of thing.
This reskin of Antizac's Leela model is meant to be some kind of earth fairy, or a nymph of some kind. Those familiar with the ever-expansive realm of fantasy should have no issues recognizing the basic theme here. As with most earth-based fantasy themes, the major color here is green, and leaves are a very prominent feature.
Go grab that Fairy Skin over on Jedi Knight Files.

Category: Voyager: Elite Force

FFA Reise is a another conversion level by Lt. Cmdr. Salinga, this time for Elite Force.
Lt. Cmdr. Salinga brings yet another conversion, this time of a very unique cartoon style map by Master Jed. The majority of the map if not all of it, has a very Anime feel to it and a constant colour scheme which suits the environment very well.
Get that map off of Elite Force Files.

 Stickman Model
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 10:15 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

If you want, you can kill and be killed while running around as Stickman.
Holy moley! That's one complex model for being so simple. So this is a stick man model. Very simply design, although the author went way over the top on the polyflow. 1800 triangles is not much for a model, but for a model this simply it's quite excessive. Eight-sided cylinders would have been plenty to achieve the appropriate look.
Go grab some Stickman for Jedi Academy!

 Shadow Blade Skin
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 7:31 PM
Category: Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast

Shadow-Blade is a skin for Jedi Outcast, designed by Raschu.
Well, Shadow-Blade is apparently a dual-orange-saber-wielding bounty hunter using modified armor based on the Swamptrooper's design. With elements of a Shadowtrooper mixed in for good measure. Interesting mix.
Jedi Knight Files is where you can check out that Shadow-Blade skin.

This one, originally released by Mike "Myth" Denby, for a Turtle Map contest, oozes with FFa goodness. This is a great way for you and your cyber-pals to spend some frag-tastic quality time, while trying to stay alive and doing unto the other team what they are trying to do unto you!
That is all on Elite Force Files.

If you need a new CTF map for Soldier of Fortune II then maybe you should take a look at the Bpf Alibaba Palace.
This is a fairly small sized map with a kinda mirrored theme. The map supports dm, Tdm, Inf, Elimination & inverted ctf. Those of you that don't know what inverted ctf is it's when the blue team spawn near the red flag and vice versa.
Yeah so did you look at that Bpf Alibaba Palace?

 Wolfenstein Elite Force Assassin Revealed
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 9:34 AM
Category: Wolfenstein

It's been known for awhile now that Raven is working on the next game in the Wolfenstein series, however very little has been revealed about it so far. Over on Yahoo! News they revealed that actress Carrie Coon is doing some motion capture work for Raven in bringing her elite force assassin to life in-game.
"They had me kind of bust through doors with big guns and pretend I was an assassin being that didn't have a spine and club a body of something on the ground and sniff it," she said. "You know, it was one of the most bizarre audition experiences I've ever had in my life."
So check out the rest of that article that's entitled Local Company Takes Video Games To Next Level.

 Cybernetic Maul
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 1:09 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Imagine if you toasted Darth Maul in a lightsaber duel or ran him over in a speeder accident or something and eventually he came back as Cybernetic Maul!
This revamped Maul, while non-canon, is still pretty intense. Can you imagine facing a foe you were certain was dead, yet he returns, and more menacing than ever? I can, mainly because it happens to me all the time. But honestly, this model is decently done. The structure and the skin are both decent. He even has some pretty well done sounds that I'm assuming were done by a friend. I almost thought it was Maul himself O_o.
Cybernetic Maul is hanging out on Jedi Knight Files.

 Super Girl Enters The Academy
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 9:28 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Lets all head on over to Jedi Knight Files and check out the Super Girl skin that DDROM released for Jedi Academy. Here is a bit from what the reviewer had to say:
Well, I must admit that I might have a little bias in this review. Why? I hate Superman. I cannot stand him. In my opinion, there's nothing more disgusting than watching an overly muscular meathead fly around in a super-tight leotard, and doing powers that were invented in 1938..technically 1932, but he failed to impress the other folk during that year. That beind said, you can tell I wouldn't take so much shine to a female version of that behemoth.
Go judge Super Girl yourself.

 Bebels Kwab Kamp
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 9:21 PM
Category: Voyager: Elite Force

Lt. Cmdr. Salinga released a deathmatch level for Elite Force that is called Bebels Kwab Kamp.
This map is perfect for some 1 on 1 action, so skills would come into play here, as opposed to lucky shots; 2vs2 could be done, but as this is a small-ish map, it'd get crowed and the fun factor would suffer because of it.
Have a look at Bebels Kwab Kamp thanks to Elite Force Files.

 Marvel: Ultimate Alliance Review

Marvel Ultimate Alliance Slips Under My Radar
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 12:26 PM
Category: Marvel: Ultimate Alliance

Ok I must be getting slow or something but I totally missed and didn't know that Raven Software released a game in late 2006 that is called Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (also known as Marvel Legends). How did I not notice this? The only way I know about this today is due to me checking out the Raven Software site and spotting this update post. I was like whoah, I could've been doing news on this title.... I know one thing for sure, I've never seen this game in the stores but that's probably due to it being developed for consoles (Ps2, Ps3, GBA, Xbox, Xbox 360, Wii, PsP) and isn't available for the PC.
Marvel™: Ultimate Alliance is an all-new action/RPG where players create their Marvel dream team from the largest roster of Super Heroes ever in an epic quest that will determine the fate of Earth and the Marvel universe. For decades, Earth’s Super Heroes have opposed evil in their own cities, and on their own terms. But now, Dr. Doom and a newly reformed Masters of Evil have plans for world domination, and the heroes must band together to defeat them.
Anyhow here is a review on IGN.
Gone are XML's cartoonish character models that lacked detail. Instead, we are given fully-realized 3D renditions of some of Marvel's greatest heroes and villains. The core game remains the same. Ultimate Alliance is a four-player top-down brawler where you pummel an endless army of villains. The new visual style and handful of gameplay tweaks prove enough to keep the formula from feeling stale.
So there you go! My radar is broken and Raven should send me a new one.

 The Jedi's Playground?
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:53 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Darth Pathos released a multiplayer map that's called Playground.
For some unique guns play, or saber play if you so desire, this map's surely a necessary download, if just to check out its cool and unique concept. It's executed fairly well, too. It's aesthetically acceptable, the lighting's pretty good, and... It just reminds me of being a kid again! Minus the falling off of the highest point part...
So check out the Playground over on Jedi Knight Files.

Go downgrab some CTF_Basesiege.
