StingRay released his well done Princess Leia models for Jedi Academy and here is a bit of what AmosMagee had to say about it in the review of the file:.It is surprising how few Leia models are out there. And I don't recall ever seeing the slave model. And now, here she is, in all her glory. There are four seperate, perfect skins. The first one has Leia with her long hair and it looks great! Go grab Princess Leia off of Jedi Knight Files.

So hit Kenn's World for that review.

Worthplaying did up a preview for Quake IV and here is a peek at what they have to say about the game:For the first time ever in a game from id Software, Quake IV’s main character has a name and a personality: Corporal Matthew Kane, a living legend in the Marine Corps. You’re also not alone, as Kane’s a member of the Marines’ Rhino Squad. Past id shooters have forced you to take on impossible odds all by yourself; in this, you and your AI-driven squad will rely upon each other to survive. By the way there will be times during the game where you play by yourself. Check out that Quake IV Preview.

Kenn Didn't See Episode III Yet

The reason I jumped onto Kenn's World just now was to see a glimpse of what he may have said about Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith, but alas he's not reported that yet due to the fact he went to see Mindhunters instead. I guess I must be living under a rock because I never even heard of Mindhunters until now.... tho I must admit that I don't watch much TV due to the crappyness and I miss out on those movie trailers most of the time. So if you want to know if Mindhunters is good, bad or ugly then hit Kenn's World for his opinion. Tomorrow might be a day for Kenn to talk about Episode III. Now we wait, we will.

I think the tide of Quake IV info out of E3 is ebbing. Meanwhile I jumped onto Kenn's World and noticed he plans to go to Episode III soon with some of the Raven dudes (he missed his first chance to go because the alarm didn't go off *HaaHaa* (just jokin Kenn)) and sometime this week he'll do up a review of the film. Also theres stuff on an Enterprise bridge made out of Lego, some job search problems plus Kenn was at a beer fest.. I need a beer now methinks.

The game is making its way to the Xbox 360 and PC this fall and just by the brief video we were able to watch, the game looks and feels great. Get some recon out of that Quake IV Preview.

ActionTrip now has thier impressions posted online of Quake IV from E3 and it's quote time! That's when we got a major curve ball thrown at us by Raven. Our hero's return to his unit is short lived as we are told that we get to see how the Strogg treat the marines that they capture. The combat we had been watching faded to black and as the new scene fades up and we see through our hero's eyes that he is strapped to a motorized gurney and despite all his struggling, he cannot get free. Oooooohhh if you want to read more go forth and hit this page.

Gamecloud has thier Quake IV impressions from E3 posted on thier site. Here is a snippage from what they have to say about it all:Level design in the E3 demo also keep with Quake II’s industrial look. Raven has added drivable vehicles for Quake IV and we got a glimpse of this when we boarded and drove a mech like vehicle with machine guns and rocket launches. While we blew up laser turrets and other enemies with ease the end of the E3 demo had our walker come up against a Strogg spider like vehicle that pretty much speared our vehicle with one swift move. You can view the whole E3 article right here.

Shack News has thier E3 2005 coverage for Quake IV posted up and here is a shot from the article:The planet's environments can be best described as a sandy, rocky desert with huge mountains and valleys. In the demo, Kane hopped into a huge mech-type vehicle, stomping around the desert, making quick work of the grunts. From the sky fell metallic containers holding turret guns. Kane then made use of the rapid-fire rocket launcher on the left shoulder of the mech. Check out that E3 2005: Quake 4 (PC and Xbox 360) jobby.

There's a new Quake IV interview posted on IGN with id Software CEO Todd Hollenshead and here is a taste from the full article:From the start of the game, literally when you wake up from being knocked out from your drop ship crashing, you're in the middle of a battlefield and have to get up and get going or else because this battle is going on all around you. That sets the tone for what the game is going to be like; it is really an adrenalin rush, driving action experience, whereas Doom 3 was a lot more about what's in the dark and what's coming around the next corner. So go read that E3 2005: Quake 4 Interview with Todd Hollenshead.

We also have the walker, which is intended to make players really feel powerful. Mars Marshall released version 2.2 of his excellent Darth Vader model for Jedi Academy. Here is what the reviewer had to say about the new stuff:Darth Daddy's Back, version 2.2 include LOTS more stuff than version one. One of the very few complaints about version one was the eyes, although alot liked them a few didn't saying how they didn't match the real vader. In this version, there are multiple Vader skins you can choose from, the episode III suit, the original trilogy suit and the others like white, no mask, default (yeah with them cool eyes), red and blue (which have been improve greatly). That's all courtesy of Jedi Knight Files. Even if your not into the Jedi Academy downloads, check out those screenshots!

Chilla-X released Fragstation X over at Elite Force Files. What can I say, this map simply rocks. I really like this map, the layout is great and so is playability. It is really noticeable that the author went for perfection. All the textures are high quality and have an interesting, yet good looking, texture. Both flags are sort of placed underground in a room. There are really only 2 ways out of that room which is not a lot but should make up for a challenge. The map is made for Elite Force, CTF mode so check it out. Fragstation X...

First Look At X-Men Legends II

Category: X-Men: Legends |
IGN has posted up a first look at X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse.Raven Software listened to the concerns following X-Men Legends and are addressing the most distressing aspects of gameplay. Every character now features more than double the active powers and all can be accessed on-screen using the D-Pad and corresponding face buttons. Powers are also a bit deeper, so that characters don't feel like carbon copies of one another. In fact, one of the reasons for splitting the roster between X-Men and Brotherhood was to limit the number of similarly-powered mutants available. A few characters have had radical transformations, including Nightcrawler who now wields two swords and has a bevy of new swashbuckling moves. So have a check on that new article that is two pages of X-Men Legends II info.

Toonloon posted an update on Space Station K7 that they released A Kirk for All Seasons which is a set of Kirk bots for Voyager Elite Force. 3 new Kirk bots from each of Star Trek's 3 seasons, featuring sounds and chatlines from the appropriate episodes. Included is a new TOS player model which has not been used before in HoloMatch. It is a conversion of the "Argas Effect" player model. This means that the mesh is shaped slightly differently and the taunt gesture is no longer the Imperial quasi-nazi salute. YOu have to dock with Space Station K7 to get the file transported.

Just noticed a few short moments ago that gamespy.com has posted up an article entitled The Art and Design of Quake 4 where they talk to both id Software and Raven and here is a bit from the whole shebang:Kevin Long: I think we have a lot of diversity throughout the entire game. We have some dark areas, and we have outdoor areas that are brighter. I think how diverse everything is will really go a long way. We didn't really set out saying, "This game is going to be dark, this game is going to be light" -- we set out to make a cohesive environment where you go through different extremes and you'll see a bunch of different stuff. Check out The Art and Design of Quake 4 that is four pages of cool info on the game.

I didn't see this before but I'll mention it now just the same. Over on map-review.com Kastraelie did up a review for Bloodmine Shaft which is a Jedi Academy level designed by wedge2211. This is quite a fun map if you get enough people in the game to fill it. Its huge, and having long range bryar from top to bottom is very fun. Maybe sticking in a few more disruptors could spicen things up even more--this is a map that would actually benefit from snipers, especially considering the weakness of the disruptor. That's all on map-review.com. Check it out.

Elite Force Files has a new CTF map called TOS Cruiser that's designed by MajorTork. Here is some info on the map from what the reviewer had to say about it:Finally the long anticipated TOS Cruiser map by MajorTork is here. Needless to say, this is the USS Excalibur and bears a striking resemblence to the Enterprise of the original series. Everything in this map has been made at the hand of a set of blueprints. The advantage of this is that the map looks just like the original. Read some of the newsupdates for information on how this map came to be. I really enjoyed roaming through the corridors. There is a lot of eyecandy for you to see. For some reason I can't get the screenshots to load on the site but anyhow check out TOS Cruiser.

Tim Willits Quake 4 Interview

Category: Quake IV |
IGN tacked up an interview with Tim Willits of id Software about Raven Software's Quake 4:Tim Willits: There are no monsters returning from Quake, but Quake II fans will recognize a number of monsters that have returned - Gunners, Grunts and Makrons for instance. The Berzerker returns with a new electrical ground pounding attack that affects a large area. One of the other things that players will pick up is the increased AI which all of the returning and new monsters will exhibit. Raven's developers have put in a lot of tactics for friendly and opposing forces. For instance, you'll notice Gunners taking cover, reinforcing positions, coordinating attacks with other Gunners, and so on. The same will happen with your squad mates. This reinforces the greater sense of the war raging around you and the organized forces you'll fight with and against. That sounds damned cool to me! So if you're in need of some new Quake 4 info be sure to read the complete 3 page interview.
