 Single Player Weapons Mod
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 9:10 PM
Category: Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix

One of the latest featured files on SoFFiles.com is a weapons mod designed for Single Player mode. Here is a quote from the description:
The Weapon Mod, is just as the name says; it's based around weapons. Players weapons, enemies weapons, emplaced weapons, you name it. The mod tries to keep a balance between realism and fun. Weapons are more like their original counterparts. Magazine sizes are more correct, damage, penetration and range is determined by the bullet, and so on.
So go ahead and check that out on this page.

 Yavin Elite Academy
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 7:55 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

I was looking at this map after it was uploaded to jk2files.com either last night or early this morning (can't remember). Anyhow they since made it the File Of The Week. As a level designer I must say I think it looks really cool from the screenshots and I like how the author kept to the same basic texture set through the entire level. Anyhow the map is called Yavin Elite Academy and it's a Free For All designed for Jedi Academy. Check out the 12 available screenies before you possibly download the 2.56 MB file. Oops nearly forgot the link which is right here.

 Cool X-Men Legends Information
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:41 PM
Category: X-Men: Legends

We received the news from Kenn Hoekstra about some interesting X-Men Legends stuff. First up we have the X-Men Legends E3 Impressions on HomeLAN Fed. Here is a quote from that article:
As stated in previous articles, this is Raven's first console-only game and the first game from the developer in a long time that isn't a first person shooter (although they are still working on the long-in-development Quake IV) but this game still has a number of Raven trademarks, including respect for the original source material, great looking graphics and a sense of story. The demo we got to check out showed off how you can select each member of Marvel's mutant team to go on individual tasks and we were told that the missions will sometimes require a particular mutant member to accomplish.
Next up is a round table interview with X-Men Legends producer Blaine Christine on 1up.com. Last but not least we have a huge preview on gamespot. Go check out all that cool X-Men stuff...

 Sunset on Coruscant
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:48 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

I was going to post about this map the other day and now that jk2files.com has it as thier file of the week, I guess it's a good time to point it out. Sunset on Coruscant was the 2nd Jedi Academy Levelsource Duel Map sumbission by rgoer The first was Docking Tower 7, which I mentioned before. Quote time!
This map is simply stunning to look at from the screenshots I've taken, and with my settings on full it may have been unplayable, but just look at it. The glowing auras of the buildings, the water fountain and the almost unbeliavebly realistic skybox - This map is literally the most realistic duel map you're ever likely to see for Jedi Academy.
Go get your copy of Sunset on Coruscant and may the force be with you....

 USS Salem (1.0)
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:50 PM
Category: Voyager: Elite Force

Elite Force Files has this interesting looking RPG map called USS Salem (1.0) uploaded.
You can tell he spent some quality time on getting the corridors looking good. Getting the scale and detail right can make or break a map. I also really liked the jeffries tube under the floor, and the fact that it was on the same deck as engineering. Hey, if this map can get me back on the server roleplaying again, it must be good, right?
There's a total of four spiffy lookin screenshots to check out before you download this Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force map. Have a look at that map right here.

 Three X-Men Legends Previews
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:26 PM
Category: X-Men: Legends

Kenn Hoekstra sent us an email to inform us about some very cool X-Men Legends previews of which there are three. Fisrt up we have Gamespy's E3 preview. Next up is Gamespot's E3 Preshow Impressions and last but not least there's IGN's Pre-E3 Preview. From the Gamespot article here is a quote:
The game's overall presentation looked good, with each member of the team being well represented by detailed character models based on the Ultimate X-Men designs. From what we saw, each member of the team will feature a good amount of animation punctuated by some nice little flourishes. Nightcrawler, for example, will have a teleportation attack that will send him quickly porting around his foes, landing numerous blows, before they can react. The large environments we saw were broken up into detailed, more memory-friendly zones with a number of interactive elements. You'll be able to keep track of the onscreen action through one of three camera angles: close, mid, and overhead. The story sequences used a mix of real-time cinematics that tapped the in-game graphics engine and fully CG segments. The audio in the game will make use of a number of well-known voice actors, including Patrick Stewart, Lou Diamond Phillips, Ed Asner, and Cree Summer.
That's some cool info there and a bit of reading on this exciting new Ravensoft title so go check it all out already!

The latest file of the week on Elite Force Files is Enterprise NX01 Teaser (Installer) a Single Player mod by the NX-01 Mod Team. Ripped right from the description we have this quote:
