Soldier Of Fortune In Top 10 Most Violent Games

Double Viking posted up what they consider to be the Top 10 Most Violent Video Games and Raven Software's Soldier of Fortune made it to 5th place in the list. This game's calling card IS its highly graphic violence. It featured a whopping 26 unique areas on its character models that could display damage independently of the others. They were called "gore zones." Players could create all manner of semi-limbless creatures, shooting off arms and legs at various points. The results were sometimes reminiscent of a butcher shop. Check out the rest of the Top 10 Most Violent Video Games. Thanks to Phoebus for finding the link.

Multiplayer Level: The Bath House

The Bath House is a multiplayer map for Jedi Academy, designed by Ayala.I just love the look of this map. Of the submissions, it could very well be my favorite, although this is probably just due to its unique subject matter. The brushwork in this particular map is very well done and quite varied, including both curves and hard edges. I also felt it interesting that the author chose to use unfitting models, such as some of the statues and hanging torches from Korriban, and yet despite this obvious clash they seem to fit in perfectly well. That is all on Jedi Knight Files.

Tho I walk through the Valley of the Jedi Tower I shall fear no Sith. Here is a chunk of what the review person had to say about this level:Anyways… whist I’ve never actually properly played through the earlier Jedi Knight games (I have the Demo For Mysteries of the Sith and Dark Forces 2) Inyri has supplied me with an excellent vid of the map to get a good idea of what the original map was like. And I trust that as an avid fan of those earlier games Inyri will have made us as faithful a recreation as possible. For those that don’t know, this is the location where, in Dark Forces 2 Kyle battles and destroys Maw, one of the six Dark Jedi that accompanied Jerec on his quest to find the Valley of the Jedi. Obviously there's more to the story, so go to the Valley of the Jedi Tower and see what is going on.

Dawn on the Plains was created by Jedi_Mediator for Jedi Academy and is stated as being a Duel map.Architecturally, this map is quite the sight. The terrain, while lacking its texture, certainly shows the author's proficiency with the software, and the castle-looking structure also shows itself off quite well. The only other thing that really lowers the quality of the map is the use of very repetitive texturing and, in some cases, unfit textures. The lighting could also be better in the indoor areas. Take a peek at the Dawn on the Plains.

Iniatha released a multiplayer level for Jedi Academy that goes by the title Cafe Chic and here is a bit of what the reviewer had to say about it:The map itself is perfectly sized for a good duel, and several heights of platforms (the stage, and two balconies) provide some extra space for more heated duels (should a duelist wish to escape -- coward!). There is no shortage of detail, either, so duelists beware! While you are staring at those nice tapestries you might just lose an arm. Jedi Knight Files got the goods.

KaiStagon released a multiplayer level for Jedi Academy that is called Malachor Duel. For those of you who have played Knights of the Old Republic 2, this map should look familiar. Unless of course you never finished the game (shame on you). This map represents a small portion of the final area of the game: Malachor V (and a small portion of the Trayus Academy). Naturally this map couldn't possibly show the entire thing... but boy does it try! That map is available on Jedi Knight Files.

Stormbringer31 uploaded his Theme Storm (v1.0) level for Soldier Of Fortune 2 and is designed for multiplayer. This is not a typical setting like inside a building or on a city street. Imagine a Website Theme made into a map. Also, web themes have custom images such as the logo, avatars, and signatures. These custom images can be incorportated into the map by replacing the customizable placeholder images in the mp_themestorm _customtex.pk3 file. So players can have their own avatar on a wall of the Accounts room of the map. Take a look at that on Soffiles.

It's time to head on over to Jedi Knight Files and check out The Phantom Of The Opera which is a skin for Jedi Academy. Here is some stuff the reviewer person has to say about it:This particular skin reminds me less of the Phantom of the Opera than it does of Jaden of the Opera. Not necessarily a bad thing, although with the amount of people that dislike Jaden that could be a weak point of the skin. The rest of the texturing, however, is superb. This particular skin uses Jaden's various clothing pieces in a way that I've not seen in the past. Our dear friend the Phantom is all decked out in one of several long coat options, each with matching pants, and several head options. If you hadn't already guessed, this skin is available for customization in the SP/customization menu. Take a look at The Phantom Of The Opera.

CTF Sternentor is of course a CTF level for Elite Force designed by Sorbet.Sorbet (previously known as SpaZe) has sent in his new map for you to enjoy, although this map can be enjoyed in the Capture the Flag gamemode, it is also playable in Team Deathmatch and Free For All modes...sort of triple the fun! The word "Sternentor" translates into 'Star Gates', so you can imagine what the main theme of this map will be...I think it will be fair to say that CTF_Sternentor will be popular with both the Elite Force crowd, as well as the Stargate fanatics! That's all available on Elite Force Files.

Cmdr. Salinga wasted no time getting permission and converting this map for the EFFiles community! The map forms the shape of the number 88, with the second 8 being a level higher than the first however, only half of the lower 8 is there. That's all on Elite Force Files.

The map in question is The Box Company. This is my 3rd work as mapper, is based on a Brazilian factory, a place that I know and that I used like an example for this work. Was a hard work to do this map, is a little squared like "Favela Rising Brazil", my first work, but has some ideas taken from "Raven Barn's" and other maps from original game. Take a look at and maybe downgrab a copy of The Box Company.

Take a walk over to Jedi Knight Files and check out the Zero Suit Samus skin by Tyrael64.So this model uses the excellent Gwethenea model to create the metroid-blastin' girl herself, but in her more feminine duds as seen in Super Smash Bros: Brawl. Alas, my Super Smash Bros experiences ended with the original. I decided to quit after I was beaten by a five year old... which is a shame, because I loved that game. I always played as Samus, go figure... But screenshots do not lie, and according to them this skin is about as accurate as you can get. Check out that Zero Suit Samus skin.

Go on over to Jedi Knight Files where you can check out the contest finalist in this Yuuzhan Vong Death Duel Arena for Jedi Academy.Be warned, this map is very purple! The map is based on the idea of a Vong Duel arena type area on one of the Vong's ancient home planets in their own galaxy. Thus its alot weirder and more 'alien' than what you might be used to seeing from Star Wars. They have four screenshots over there, so go take a look.

Here is a little something for those who still play with Jedi Outcast. phonock uploaded his Darth Serak to Jedi Knight Files. This one's actually interesting, considering it's not just a recolor of the default reborn. Pretty far from it, actually. This particular reborn has donned some different clothing (black, naturally). Personally I'm not a fan of the breeches look, which this reborn seems to have chosen, but the rest of it does look unique and not stale, which black and white reborns tend to become. To give it a creepy undead or tattooed look, a couple of lines were added near the mouth. There's four screenshots of that Darth Serak skin to check out before you do a possible downgrab.

Lt. Cmdr. As long as you stay on the move, the chances of getting hit by enemy fire are a bit slim as the straight aways are rather short...unfortunately, it works the same in reverse. Have a look at Inf Speed2.

KOTORMRJay released KOTOR Flight School Final which is a Free For All level made for Jedi Academy.Okay, I was impressed by this map. I don’t know why, maybe it was because things looked nice, well constructed, and I was surprised by what I saw. Basically, this map is set up as a space battle map, where opposite teams spawn on different bases, fly out, and try to destroy the other base. You can get that map over on Jedi Knight Files.

Quest is a Duel map for Jedi Outcast by Acrobat. The construction of this map isn’t too bad, in fact I really don’t have any qualms with it. The only real qualms with the map I have are that you can’t really go that far when you should be able to. Want an example? A hallway that you can start to go down, but can’t proceed after a certain part; a chasm that you can’t jump down to your doom; these are the kinds of things I am talking about. That is all on Jedi Knight Files.
