 CTF Toxic Faucility
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:32 PM
Category: Voyager: Elite Force

Over on Elite Force Files they have a new CTF map called CTF Toxic Faucility for Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force. From the description of the map I gathered this quote:
Floating in a large pool of toxic waste, the facility is an open arena with large walkways twisting around to connect the two flag areas. Along the walkways are a few sniper towers (which give a great birds eye view of the entire map). Each side has three of these towers. Because the map is so open, it can get a little tough trying to get to/from the enemies flag.
So there ya go and here it is if ya want it.

Personally I can't wait to see more info come out of Raven Software concerning Quake 4 and the following news may or may not concern Quake 4. Anyways Zachary Quarles posted in his webdog .plan that Raven is looking for someone with skills in both music composition and sound design. This is not a contracted or freelance position. This is a full time staff position and requires relocation to the Madison, Wisconsin area. Check out that Webdog update for the full info.

 Hydroball II On jk2files
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:57 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

jk2files.com has a newish file of the week and this time it's Hydroball II a Multiplayer mod designed for Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. Here is a quote jobby:
You and your team work together underwater and without weapons to get a ball into the goal. It's much like soccer, but with force power and you can tackle your opponents! Oh, and you use your hands, not your feet.
Hydroball II sounds like some kinda wacky fun.

 Various JK_Academy Files
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:36 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Some of the lastest files on Lucas Files have been for Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. First up we have ModWooty v.40 that is a melee-oriented serverside only mod. Next file is Darth Maul as a selectible player race for SP and MP. Next on the list of JK_Academy files is Platform a Duel Map which is described as a basic map with wide area to fight and lots of light on open air. Ok there is one more file I want to mention called Asteroids which is a mod that has new vehicles, new maps and new hyperspace effect. I think I mentioned the Asteroid jobby before but what the heck, it sounds cool.

 No B.A.R.D. 1.3 For SOF2 Yet
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 7:58 PM
Category: Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix

arkanis updated the B.A.R.D. site with the news that he's lacking any sort of motivation for working on B.A.R.D. 1.3 as can be expected when a guy spends a lot of time on a particular project (been there, done that). The name BARD is short for Soldier Of Fortune 2 Multiplayer: Bots And Realistic Damage. However he does say that he will try and get something out in the next two weeks before he gets into UT2004. Meanwhile you can still get the earlier versions of the mod that were released for Soldier Of Fortune 2.

 Matrix Unplugged Site Moves
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:55 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

The Matrix Unplugged site has moved to a new location and they're still working on getting thier forums running again. For those of you who never heard of this site, here is what it's all about thanks to a copy and paste from thier info page:
The Matrix Unplugged Mod is a Multiplayer Mod for Jedi Academy that takes the events from The Matrix Trilogy and puts it in a video game. We plan on having many of the main characters, weapons and locations seen in the movies, along with many powers that Neo, Agent Smith, and other characters have when they are plugged into the Matrix.
Sounds interesting enough and now we must wait for this Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy mod to be released.

No NASA didn't find an alien space station in Mars orbit. I never seen this site before so maybe it's new for you as well. They updated not too long ago (Jan 17th) and I checked out our archives and we didn't news the following item so I'm gonna do it now. Space Station K7 updated with a skin of Dr. Richard Daystrom from the TOS episode, The Ultimate Computer. Go to transporter 1 for the beam-in.... I mean download.

Heretic II Maps On The Construct
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:30 PM
Category: Heretic II

I was looking around for some Heretic II news due to the fact it's one of the coolest Raven games ever designed and it's sometimes a challenge to find newsworthy items for the older games. I discovered KREE has a pretty neat site dedicated to his Heretic II Bladematch and Deathmatch levels. A short time ago KREE released a map or two and just might be working on anouther. That's what he says anyways. So if your a Heretic II fan methinks it's a good idea to wander over to The Construct, check out the screenshots and get yourself some H2 add-on maps. Furthermore we also have a very cool Heretic II community here on our raven-games forums so maybe you should check that out as well if you haven't already.

Jedi Academy Maps On Lucas Files
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:46 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

On my way around the net I dropped into Lucas Files and noticed they have two maps for Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy posted on thier main page. Not sure how old this is due to there being no date on anything. However it's new to me and I don't think it's been mentioned here at all. Ok, enough blabbering... The first map is a FFA (Free For All) called Matrix Reloaded v2.1 which is a few areas from the Matrix Reloaded film plus some extras. Check out the map right here. The next map is a single player map called Zeus Academy Ladder and once your playing the map you'll battle your way to the top of the ladder by fighting enemies of increasing difficulty. Get the Zeus map right here.
