 Maze Of Doom
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 7:54 PM
Category: Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix

I don't know if ya'll like mazes or not but here is a Maze Of Doom, deathmatch level for Soldier Of Fortune 2 that was made by Loneviper.
It is a bit big for less than 8 players in my opinion but it could be quite interesting. It should have had CTF support as well but I guess the developer had his reasons not to add it.
Grab that map off of Soffiles.

 Zidane's Weapon Pack
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 7:57 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Inyri Forge created this Zidane's Weapon Pack for Jedi Academy which contains weapons from Final Fantasy IX. The reviewer sayeth:
As I said to Inyri yesterday while the opening FMV was running, it's easily the most beautifully-crafted game of the series on multiple levels. Do these weapons reflect that? They certainly match the game's signature style, and for remakes, that's almost as important as the quality of the model itself.
Go grab that Zidane's Weapon Pack.

 The Wisdom Machine
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 9:17 PM
Category: Voyager: Elite Force

Lt. Cmdr. Salinga released a deathmatch level that is called The Wisdom Machine.
This is the third map of a trilogy composed by other two maps called "The Birth Machine" and "The Guns OF Navarone". What do have these maps in common? Not only the author, obviously, bat there is a theme that link them each other: They are all floaters, the first one is in the atmosphere (air), the second one is above the sea (water), and this one on a desert (earth). Also, The first one experiments a vertical way to use physics, the second one do that in an horizontal way, this one in both the way... and this is the reason why I've chosen the name "wisdom". The second part of the name "Machine" has been chosen to close the circle started with "The Birth Machine".
That map is available on Elite Force Files.

 Jaden Gets Reskinned
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 1:30 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Rapp's Skin Pack is a reskin of the Jaden model and here is a bit of what the reviewer on Jedi Knight Files has to say about it all:
I like skins like this. Y'know, where there are actually new textures instead of just recoloring the old ones. Jaden's got a brand new suit, and she's ready to show it off in the species menu. I might've gone about this differently (probably would've added them all as variations of the original Jaden model to increase the mix'n'match aspect) but the way it's set up is fine. It adds a new character to the species selection with one head option, three torso options, and two leg options. That's... uh... six different possible skins, right?
Check out the Rapp's Skin Pack that Rapp_Scallion released for Jedi Academy.

 Operation Sandstorm
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 5:39 PM
Category: Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix

Operation Sandstorm is a multiplayer map for Soldier Of Fortune 2 that JohnnyGrenade put together.
This will be on nearly every sniper server out there before long. Even though it is a small map for sniping it is very well balanced with loads of spots to take aim from.
Have a look at Operation Sandstorm.

 Pawn Takes Queen!
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 9:16 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

If you ever wanted to capture some enemy flags on a chessboard then here is your chance ---> CTF Chessboard.
As with his previous map, Freak_Fish has included all of the weapons available are well placed around the map, making for some interesting gameplay. Another interesting feature is that you can actually move the Chess Pieces, yes that's right, you really can! When moving the pieces forwards they will also push the shields and hyposprays on the board forwards as well.
Get your CTF Chessboard today thanks to Elite Force Files.

Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 5:17 PM

If you happen to be looking for a Quake 4, singleplayer map, then here is Empire Strogg.
Objective: destroy the empire strogg
There's not a lot of info about the map. I think my Objective is going to be some coffee.

 SL Coliseum
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 9:48 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

SL Coliseum is a Free For All level made for Jedi Academy by RevanSL.
This map is a medium-sized free-for-all map consisting of the main are, which does fit in with the map name (it does fit the definition of a coliseum), along with a section on either end for spectating, one of which is very straight-forward and the other which requires you to find a hidden door.
Check out SL Coliseum on Jedi Knight Files.

 Godz Jordan
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 7:13 PM
Category: Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix

$a]v[uRa! ])R@G()N released Godz Jordan which is a set of three multiplayer maps for Soldier of Fortune 2.
There are 3 maps in the pk3 file and each are quite different to the others. 1 is a sewer map, 1 is a mosque and the other is a jor1 style map. I can't really fault any of them as they all look good and are spot on for what the developer intended.
The screenshots of Godz Jordan certainly look nice. Check em out..

 Death On The Nile
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 5:26 PM
Category: Voyager: Elite Force

LocutusOfBorg_ released a multiplayer map for Elite Force that is called The Nile and here is a shot of what the review person has to say about it:
The map itself contains two Pyramid structures which are the main feature of this map, despite it's name, which are separated by a small stream in the centre of the map. While fairly simple this looks set to be a lot of fun and is definitely worth checking out.
Find that map on Elite Force Files.

 Deadly Weapons Pack
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:08 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Here is a Deadly Weapons Pack for Jedi Academy that was released by Shocker. The pack contains weapons from the Guild Wars series...
Each of these weapons has it own particular flare, the textures reminding me of the madness ore weapons from Oblivion's Shivering Isles expansion.
Personally I think the fiery dragon sword looks odd minus the fiery bits...

 Kill Em All
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:09 PM
Category: Voyager: Elite Force

killthehumans is a multiplayer map for Elite Force that was released by Freak_Fish.
This map is a basic deathmatch with all weapons scattered around the map including borg and hypo. There are 2 half-secrets where the good weapons are hidden, but they are quite easy to find if you have alot of accidents wink The map is CTF, team match, disi, and assimilation compatable and mods should work here also.
Go to Elite Force Files and killthehumans.

 Final Dark Forces
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 7:59 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

I haven't been on the Dark Forces site for awhile and missed that they released the final version of the mod.
A month after the alpha release of the 6 level version of the Dark Forces Mod, the DF Team is pleased to announce the final release of the mod. 95% of all reported bugs have been fixed. A few issues remain, but those may be addressed in small patch updates, fixed by the community at large, or remain unfixed.
Hit the Dark Forces site and get the download.

 Cube The Level
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 10:03 PM
Category: Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix

TheUnderdog released a multiplayer, Soldier of Fortune map that is inspired by the Cube movie.
Just as in the movie, there are dangarous rooms to enter. In the movie you will mostly die, if you enter, here the cubes only make little damage. Notice that in most of this rooms, there are save places to hide whitout hurt, like the shafts, crouch, sit in a corner, or climp to the top of the pale's. In the movie they use primenumbers to see if the room is save, we don't of course.
Have a look at that Cube level.

 CTF Junction
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 6:48 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Looks like Gigon has been mapping again and released a Capture The Flag map of which he calls CTF Junction.
Players must make their way to the enemy base through the use of thin multi-levelled walkways and hovering worker robots, where the risk of falling to your death is always a possibility! There are also forcefield barriers that can prevent the other team from reaching your flag, but these can be overridden if you find the right switch at the center of the map.
The screenshots for CTF Junction certainly look interesting. That level is on Elite Force Files! Goooo get it.

Under Sun And Sky Outlander We Greet You Warmly
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:23 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Well it's back to our normal scheduled programming.... Go forth and hit Jedi Knight Files on this particular Sun and Sky spot. The map is Free For All and was released by X3no.
There's four platforms (that act as spawnpoints) connected to a central platform and on top of that one, there's a smaller one. There's also some pillars to spice things up a bit. And a tiny bit of land under the walkways for those dramatic reappearances when your opponent thinks you kicked the bucket or fell to the ground far below their feet. Architecturally, that's pretty much all there is.
Hit Jedi Knight Files or not, there is no try.

The Wolf Is Hiding In The Shadows
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 10:02 PM
Category: Wolfenstein

I have to remind myself that Elite Force 2 isn't a Raven game.... heh. Sucks when you start typing up a news thinghy and then remember that fact and then have to find something else. So what did I find? Ummmm nothing.... because I didn't look and to be frank, I'm tired of all the Raven news being the same.... here is a map on whatchamacallit.files... again. So I'm just gonna think out loud or something. Who reads the Raven news on here anyways? Anyhow I was thinking that Raven sure is being quiet about Return To Castle Wolfenstein 2.... or whatever it's goin to be called. I took a look around and this article on Shack is from 2005, so they've been working on it for a bit now and perhaps we will see it released this year as this article and also this article mentions. I wish they would say something about it since it's been like 9 months of them being quiet. I like that there isn't a crapload of screenshots and videos and interviews being pumped down our throats, but it would be nice to get a little info. IMHO I would like to have them announce all-of-a-sudden that the game has shipped and here is 5 screenshots, a short teaser video and go buy the damned game and enjoy it. That would be sweet..... none of this information overkill hype-train spoilerfest that most developers release beforehand. Heh I started to rant there.

 MP Shop 2008
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:53 PM
Category: Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix

The map I'm going to mention today is mp shop 2008 which is a multiplayer map for Soldier of Fortune 2, made by dday.
I have to say his mapping skills are showing improvement with each new map. This one is a shop based map over a few levels. It has a nice atmosphere to it and is quite well made.
That map is available thanks to Soffiles.

 VV Thrust
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 7:43 PM
Category: Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix

Here is a map that goes by the name VV Thrust. It is made for multiplayer in Soldier of Fortune 2 by Rebel.
The map flows very well and has plenty of pickups so your never far away from a weapon. It is a medium sized map but would still make a interesting map with just a couple of players on it.
Grab some VV Thrust over on Soffiles.

 Senatu Sanctuary
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 9:18 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

I so wish Raven would make another Jedi Knight game but that's probably as likely to happen as another HeXen or Heretic game..... Meanwhile if you feel like a Free For All in some Jedi Academy, then maybe have a look at this Senatu Sanctuary level that DracoLich put together. The reviewer did a sort of walkthrough description thinghy and here is a snip:
Now, the first thing I saw was the hull of the Millenium Falcon located inside a hangar. The hangar itself is nice and roomy and home for the aforementioned ship and two X-wings. The pillars and girders are a nice touch, they gave me a feeling that this place was built in a bit of a hurry (maybe they needed a place to hide out really fast).
Go forth and read more and get the downgrab of the Senatu Sanctuary.

Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:47 PM
Category: Quake IV

Dafama2K7 released Unpredictable Q4 v0.6 and this version includes updated drivers, more powerful weapons, more balanced gameplay and other fixes.
This single-player mod offers, among a wide range of other changes, optimized shaders and better weapon FX.
That mod is available over on Quake 4 Files.

 No Humanity
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 6:29 PM
Category: Quake IV

I don't see anything new on Quake 4 Files but there is this No Humanity map for Quake 4 that I missed before.
This map is best for 4-6 players and comes with a new soundtrack.
Have a deathmatch in No Humanity.

 Trebors Tomb
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 9:13 PM
Category: Quake IV

Here is a level that's called Trebors Tomb. The map is designed by BJA for deathmatch in Quake 4.
Best art-design, but this map is not for pro-gamers. There is no space for tricking-jumping. Only one flor. No mega-heals, red armor and NO realgun.
That level is available on Map Factory.

 SR Jordan
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 7:39 PM
Category: Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix

Smoke(+)Bot~` released a multiplayer map for Soldier of Fortune 2 that is called SR Jordan.
A extended version of Jor1. It is a nice version although there are a few things that don't look right. Like some of the windows. But apart from that this is a really good reworking of the original map.
Yeah Soffiles.

 USS Ariana
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 6:45 PM
Category: Voyager: Elite Force

RadiSign released the beta 2 version of an RPG map for Elite Force Files that is called USS Ariana.
However there is a fatal flaw. It only seems to work on ioEF currently, and therefore, most players will not be able to use it online or at all.
Check out the USS Ariana.

It's a Warbot... What Did You Expect It To Look Like?
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 7:54 PM
Category: Voyager: Elite Force

Here is a Warbot skin for Elite Force and as usual the file is on Elite Force Files. By the way there's no screenshot of the skin over there so don't look for one. This is getting boring..... all the Raven news a guy can find all goes to either Jedi files or Soffiles or whateverfiles.

 Imperial Abandoned Base
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 9:08 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

:=[Mandrake]=:Legolas arc released a duel map for Jedi Academy that is dubbed Imperial Abandoned Base.
The detail isn't very big but it does an effort to kinda be more dramatic to the duels you fight, so people who like to act out a fight more than just go all out will appreciate this more.
Maybe it's time for you to inhabit this Imperial Abandoned Base? If so, grab it off of Jedi Knight Files.

 Quake 4: Evolved
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 9:11 PM
Category: Quake IV

fatal_impurity released Quake 4: Evolved, which is one of those mods that tweaks the graphics in the game, including such things as bloom, paralax mapping, enhanced shaders and such. So if you're interested, that's all on Quake 4 Files.
