Kenn Hoekstra posted on his site again with some thoughts on Clint cleaning up at the Academy Awards and a bit about the planned Star Trek XI movie that's scheduled to be released in 2007. Personally I think they should've made a DS9 movie when the series was still hot. Oh well! Go see what Kenn has to say over on Kenn's World.

Over on Star Trek Gaming Universe they have a TOS Weapons Mod interview with Toonloon of Space Station K7. Here is a clip from the interview:Toonloon: I've been watching Star Trek since I was quite young back when there was only one Star Trek on TV. I'm a big fan of the show and the message within it that transcends just being another science fiction series. TOS is my favourite of the series although I did really like TNG although I thought it was getting a bit tired towards the end. DS9 was a revelation and is my favourite show after TOS. Have a read of that interview.

So what if you wanted to climb into a Bantha and ride around maps killing each other in a Bantha-frenzy? Well if you can actually do that or not isn't immediately clear, however there is a Bantha (v2) model on Jedi Knight Files that might just be good for a Bantha-fest. I dunno for sure but somebodys gonna get hurt in that thing.

Sweet Darth Vader Model

Hey somehow I got some work done today on my Doom mapping stuff! Anyways I was lurking on Jedi Knight Files and spotted what I thought was a cool wallpaper. Then I realised that Mars Marshall had designed a rather cool looking Darth Vader model for Jedi Academy and the reviewer freaked out a bit over it:Oh My Lord... I am utterly shocked by the total uber greatness of possibly the best model made for JKA so far! We all know Darth Vader, Daddy of Luke Skywalker and the character who made star wars so popular (in my opinion of course), Mars has captured Vader PERFECTLY in everyway from the shine on his helmet, the real-like textures on his cape and the metal parts on the suit, it all looks marvellously realistic. Check out Darth Vader! Hmmmm and if you like thatVader stuff, then maybe this Vader Hilt by Broken-Hope will come in handy too.

Ever have one of those days where you have lots of free time yet you get nothing done? That was the way today went for me. Anyways a quick jump onto Jedi Knight Files revealed that I probably should've hung out at the Living Dead Cantina instead of doing whatever it was that I did. It's a deul map for Jedi Academy and may be worthy of a downgrab.

Sometimes you find cool maps when you least expect it and at other times you can spend an hour actually looking for something and end up with squat. However this time around I discovered Coldboot (1.0) right away and it looks like a pretty neat Soldier Of Fortune 2 map that supports various game modes. The level is a medium sized bootcamp thats covered in snow. You can downgrab Coldboot (1.0) thanks to SoFFiles.com.

I was rummaging around Jedi Knight Files when I noticed a Jedi Academy model that's going by the name Meryl Silverburgh. Who? That's what I said. I have no idea who this Meryl is and I don't intend to doing any searches for her either. Meanwhile the skin looks pretty good if you need a tough girl kinda model. If you want it, then you should go here. No wait, she's a Metal Gear character... I think. Anyroad it's time to saunter out of here.

It is late and I'm bored and its certainly boring to moan on about news items in the same way day after day. So anyhow, I have a batch of Munton's Blonde beer brewing in a fermentation jobby a few feet away from where my comp is and I'll be bottling that sometime next week. Sooo while I was hopping around the net looking for some Raventacular news I noticed somebody went and made a CTF Becks map for Star Trek Voyager Elite Force. As much as I like beer, I don't think id ever make a map that was made up of beer textures. Then again if I was drunk... but I don't get drunk since it's stupid and stuff. If I was going to make a Beer related map id do a hellish brewery or somethin, however some people might like to frag one anouther and run around with flags in CTF Becks. Cya!

Borg Weapons Mod

Over on Elite Force Files I noticed that PiperTheGreat released a Borg Weapons mod for Elite Force. Here is a snip from what the reviewer said of it all:Not only the weapons have been changed, the bootscreen has been replaced by a borg one with the appropriate sound accompanying it. Like this isn't enough, the loading screen has undergone a facelift aswell. Text and the good ol' hazard team logo have been replaced by something better and newer. In game, most of the regular weapons have been transformed into Borg weapon with Borg designations. Just like any good weapons mod, the weapons effects have been played with aswell and it hasn't gotten worse because of it, on the contrairy, the new sounds and effects are very cool and give just that little bit extra to the Borg feeling. Check that Borg Weapons mod out right here.

Here is a quote from the reviewers description:HapSlash is probably best known for his work on the trooper. He's created a "better" trooper for Jedi Academy. Here, he gives us Darth Maul's saber - as it is when he starts the fight and when it's chopped in half. It's a beautiful saber. I have yet to see a saber model/skin that looks quite so pretty. Wonderful job here. Go check on those Final Duel Maul Sabers that are designed for Jedi Academy.

Patrick Haslow created a Free For All level called Twilight on Tatooine that's set in a backwater garrison on Tatooine, just before sunset. This map is best played with 6-10 players. There are many booby traps placed around the map, they are useful for surprising your opponents- some if you have chosen to use force push. Also, many useful power-ups are initially located in hidden locations. Check out Twilight on Tatooine and the available screenshots sure do look cool of this 30mb Jedi Academy level. That map is on Lucas Files.

Over on Jedi Knight Files theres a Jedi Acadeny map that is called Over The Bridge. Now for a quote jobby from what the reviewer said: Mmkay, first of all, you cannot judge this map by the screenshots. The lighting looks horrible, but trust me, in-game it's just lovely. So, the most frustrating, but also the most fun part about this map, was trying to get to the top. I should tell you now, you can't get up there. I died 8 times trying. Anyhow the map is made for FFA, TFFA, Duel and Powerduel. So Mmkay, check out that Over The Bridge level.

Muahahahaha! The level is called [R&B]Kickmasters Maze and supports 2-16 players in CTF,CTB,DM,TeamDM and Arsenal game modes. So anyways if you want that map you'll have to leap over here.
