 Sword Of The Uruk-Hai
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 9:54 AM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Just spotted on Jedi Knight Files that lostingamma made a weapons model of the Orcish Sword Of The Uruk-Hai.
This weapon is a replica of the sword Uruk-Hai's use in the LOTR movies. It is basiclly a normal sword but at the top the point goes inwards, if you could turn around the sword you could use it for extra bloody scenes.
The weapon is for use in Jedi Academy, so go get it if your an Orc, or just happen to like that kinda stuff.

 Imperial Excavation Site
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 10:35 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

DarkLordTrooper made a Jedi Academy level called Imperial Excavation Site and it's designed for Free Fo All mode.
The imperial excavations site is a map set on a Yavin-looking planet, and although the majority of the map isn't set in caves, it's in an outdoor storage/packing area, there are lots of small details and a little cave full of blue crystals which advance the theme.
If you want to check it out then click right here. The five available screenshots look pretty nice by the way.

 Hordes of Chaos IV
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 12:00 AM
Category: Heretic

Udderdude just released Hordes of Chaos IV for Heretic that runs under the ZDoom source port, so expect to face monsters from Doom, Hexen and Heretic as well. Here is what he has to say about it from the wad's description file:
5 more Heretic maps stuffed full of monsters. These maps are meant to be a challenge on Skill 4. If you play on Skill 4 and die miserably, don't be surprised. And don't complain, either. Play it on Skill 3! :P After each map your weapons and ammo are taken. You get to keep your items. This is intentional. Each map was taken from another project and worked on considerably.
Grab that wad off of the id games database. Also you'll need to get ZDoom and if you haven't already obtained that... specifically version 2.0.63a and you can get that right here. Also you'll need the Heretic IWAD file (comes with the game) to play the wad. Udderdude promises that this is the last HOC.

X-Men Legends Review On Video Game City
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:57 AM
Category: X-Men: Legends

Video Game City has a spiffy new Review online for X-Men Legends and here is a quote from what they had to say about the game:
First off, Legends boils down a hack and slash RPG. For the large part of the missions you “control” four mutants at once, pounding away at generic soldiers with different colored textures. It’s not to say that you are controlling all of them by yourself. The game allows you to switch between fully controlling one of the four while the other three are controlled by sometimes-competent A.I.
here is the linkage for that Review.

 Stukatto's CTF Stuk 1 & 2
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 11:17 PM
Category: Voyager: Elite Force

Stukatto has his CTF Stuk 1 & 2 maps on Elite Force Files and they were originally designed for the 1.3 Mapping Contest that was held last year.
The two maps are identical in terms of gameplay, the difference between the two is that one has an industrial theme (titled CTF Conplex) while the other has an egyptian theme (titled CTF Stukmun2). The maps are divided into two bases and the middle area with a vast number of routes provided between them. There are a lot of levels as well that add a lot to the gameplay of the maps (knowing how to rocket jump, for example, will certainly let you get around the map much faster). If you plan your route right you can even pick up a lot of important items. The flags in each base are set on some rather dangerous platforms reached by a jumppad. Not only is it harder since it's more out-of-reach, but it's also very open to enemy fire.
Grab that map pack on this page.

 Force Council Headquarters 2.0
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 9:08 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Roshi updated his Force Council Headquaters map to version 2.0 and here is a bit of what the reviewer had to say about it all:
Force Council Headquarters v2.0 is a visually brilliant map, the architecture and the use of curves to create his environment really has paid off, because it looks fantastic. My worry was about my FPS but due to some nice VIS areaportalling my FPS was always above 40. (No worries then) It's a big map, and takes a fair time to load - nothing like Kamino but longer than your average map.
The level is designed for Jedi Academy and is made for Free For All action. You can downgrab or look at the screenshots right here which is on Jedi Knight Files.

 Banshee Reviews X-Men
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 9:31 PM
Category: X-Men: Legends

I spotted an X-Men Legends review on Game Banshee that I didn't see before. I don't see a date on when it was posted but I know I didn't news it before so here it is.
The game starts with the player in control of Wolverine, who is probably the most popular and notorious of all X-Men. Wolverine arrives in New York City to investigate a commotion caused by a mutant, only to find that Mystique and Blob of The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants have already arrived and abducted the mutant in question. From there on the action hardly stops.
Check out the full review right here.

Yuna Model For Jedi Outcast & Jedi Academy
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 9:42 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Hey here we go again with skins again but this one looks cool enough that I had to report about it. Antizac geared a Yuna (Final Fantasy) model that works with both Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy.
There are 3 skins for this model - Yuna from FFX, Yuna (Gunner Dressphere) from FFX-2 and Yuna (Songstress Dressphere) from FFX-2. All three are intricately textured and detailed to the finest detail, but my favourite has to be the Gunner skin. It's just so spot-on! The others are pretty much as well, but the first one just reminds me of the game more than the other two.
Grab that Yuna model right here.
