![]() 05/05/05 The Shadowlord Heretic Siege v3.1 Release! What's New? Well how about some controllable vehicles? To show case this new feature I have added controllable Spiders in CvC map. I added a screenshot in the Screenshots Section of these arachnids. Here is the list of Updates: -Included some missing textures and sounds. -Disarm doesn't effect same team now -Fixed Error with Class Upgrade showing up as upgraded. -"absorb" can be set on objects now. Flammable objects with absorb still take fire damage. -Changed the absorb sound and added new sound to let you know if you do damage to absorb object. -Fixed a crash bug with timebomb. -Godsave check will happen with every death. -Fixed a crash issue with BBrushes and spells. -Minor issue with dismemberment resolved. -Fixed a issue with fog where you get the wrong color after death. -Pickup Effect crash should be minimized or hopefully removed. -Updated CVC map. Siege Ramps absorb damage, triggering the rocks to come down is harder now and I animated the waterfall. -Added controllable Spiders to CvC. -Removed spawnflags for difficulty levels. I Just Needed more spawnflags ;). -Added Respawn spawnflags for object custom. -object_ballista: Z angle can be set. -siege_team can now be set on trigger_control. -Added forgettarget imp command. -Monsters can attack func_trains that have both origin and model set. Don't miss this version of H2Siege! Download v3.1 in the Files Section. 04/06/05 The Shadowlord I added a screenshot of the new controllable boats. Now players will be able to use boats to carry monsters and other player across waterways. You can see the screenshot in the Screen Shots Section. The boats will be available next release. 04/01/05 The Shadowlord Heretic Hides did a great job with the new Ogle Player Model, so I decided to make some Siege skins that fit the new model correctly. You can download the Brutus Ogle Siege Skins in the Files Section. 03/18/05 The Shadowlord Heretic Siege v3.0 is Released! Here's what's new in version v3.0: -Added a New Class: Ogle (See Class Section for more details). -New weapon Timebomb -Added a new map Castle vs Castle. -Added Icons to tell player when they can use triggers by action or attack. -Fix a bug with tripmine and backpack. -Increased Crossbow upgrade cost to 1000 -Lift sound is now dependent on offwall.wav in player model folder. -Avaliable Upgrades depend on your current class now. -shop will now only show available upgrades that you don't have. -Added stat_ogle command. -Accuracy now takes flight and swimming into account. -Add KO'ed to Fist Attack. You get a chance to knockdown a player with your first. This chance is directly related to the classes strength. Tome of Power and Raging also increases your KO chances. -Health Upgrade now stacks with DoC health. -Bloodfire can no longer be used underwater. -Improved the Ballista Aiming System and improved the angle range of fire. -Added three new server variables: upg_disable, upg_anyclass, and gold (See Server Readme). -Fixed problem with Imp Fireball reflecting incorrectly. -Guard missile can now be reflected. -Reduced arrow damage to non-flesh entities. -Fixed a double delay issue with func_timer. Now delay will only effect it once. -Disconnecting players no longer drop armor. -trigger_mass now takes into account player armor (1/2 of total armor is added to mass). -obj_custom can now use custom sound when it is pushed. -Added Target Command for Summoned Imp. -Fixed a problem with trigger_puzzle and making the activating trigger visible. -Fixed a issue with trigger_hardfall and falling in water. -Increased Cleric's Dispel Range. -Improved Cleric's spell targeting. -Fixed some bad m8 files (angel.m8, talkb_0.m8, con_1.m8). -Fixed a issue with Jailer and aprison destinations. -Added 7 New Class Specific Upgrades: Fighter - Disarm: Allows you to disarm another staff when blocking or colliding staffs (50% Chance). Assassin - Backstab: You will always backstab when you hit from behind. Wizard - Mana Drain: Increase chance to drain mana (%50). Necromancer - Life Drain: Increase chance to drain health (%50). Cleric - God Save: Increase chance to be saved by your god (%30). Succubus - Bloodfire: Adds fire damage to bloodfire. Ogle - Knock Out: Increase Ogle's knockdown chance when using fist (%70). -Updated sgbridge to include gold rewards. -In h2siege and cryptsg maps defenders are rewarded 100 gold every 10 min. -Removed glass from the crown case in h2siege and sgbridge. -Made additional changes to cryptsg. For those of you who have an older version of Siege installed, I recommend you delete your h2siege directory and do a full installation. 03/07/05 The Shadowlord I posted some screenshots of the upcoming H2Siege v3.0. Version 3.0 will include a whole new class: the Ogle. Inn addition there will be new class upgrades (Including the new Disarm Upgrade) and a few more goodies, such as knocking down your opponents with your fists. Don't miss out on the sneak peak of the new Ogle Class! in the Screenshots Section 02/13/05 The Shadowlord Yet another update! Heretic II Siege v2.6 Update This is a small one, but I thought I just make some additions to liven things up. Here is what's new: - Removed the Beta tag (About time isn't it?) - Added two new upgrades Accuracy Upgrade - Increases Accuracy (+1) with all range attacks, including ballistas. Crossbow Upgrade - Arrows are no longer subject to gravity. - Incorporated Accuracy modifiers with movement (Applies to most ranged attacks). Crouching: +1 Accuracy Standing: +0 Accuracy Walking: -1 Accuracy Running: -2 Accuracy Jumping: -1 Accuracy (Stacks with Walking or Running) - Assassin has best accuracy with bow, then fighter, then all other classes. - Succubus has best accuracy with grenades. - Fighter arrow speed is now the same as the other classes. - Made minor changes to cryptsg map. Get it in the Files Section. 10/20/04 The Shadowlord Heretic II Siege v2.5 Beta Release Updates: - item_splitter: Added Spawnflags 2 - Set item to NORESPAWN and Added Style setting so it will spawn more then once. - Fix a crash issue with trigger_control - Assassin will no longer come out of hiding while her bow is drawn. - Increased the accuracy of Fireball spells - Monsters should look for new targets after player disconnects. - Breakables now trigger correctly when killed by spells. - Fixed bug where spells and other projectiles triggered trigger_message. - Added Imp to monsterspawner - Custom Objects can be triggered to destroy themselves. - Modified the order of Upgrades. - Fixed the bug where the catapults stopped turning after it reached 360 degrees in one direction. - Added new trigger called trigger_mass. It allows you to create mass sensitive object or switches. - Ogles and other monsters fire triggers even while standing now. - Fixed a crash bug involving swimming gorgons. - Normal Imps do less a lot less damage then summoned imps. - Reduced Dismember on Blade Upgrade. - Increased Cost of Mana Regeneration Upgrade. - Heal Spell and Regeneration now restores the player's skin gradually. - Reduced Succubus' Fire Regeneration. - Included Updated H2Siege and Crypt Siege Maps. I also created a Demo Map called Breaking Bridges, which demonstrating how to use trigger_mass. You an get both files in the Files Section. 10/13/04 The Shadowlord Crypt Siege Map has been updated. I fixed various bugs and added gold rewards. You can download Crypt Siege Beta 2 in the Files Section. 10/13/04 The Shadowlord Crypt Siege Map Conversion I was working on converting one of my old Hexenworld Siege maps and I finally completed it. It still needs some balancing, but it is totally functional. It will have some problems running with v2.4. However you can test it on the server running H2Siege. You can download it in the Files Section. 10/06/04 The Shadowlord Full H2Siege Entities List I decided to make a complete H2Siege Entities List for you mappers out there. It includes all the new siege entities as well as all the alterations to the old H2 entities. You an get it in the Files Section. 9/23/04 The Shadowlord Heretic II Siege v2.4 Beta Release Here's whats new: - Object of mass 350 and greater can't be pushed onto catapults. - Chickens no longer can fly and gliding is very limited. - Chicken speed is a bit slower. - Chickens no longer can use torches or tripmines. - Succubus glide was reduced a bit. - Added trigger_pay - Added trigger_reward - Added a radius option to trigger_message. - Added talking effect to trigger_message and sound_ambient_custom (Talk bubbles appear above the speakers). - Added talking effect to ogle commands. - Fixed problem with trigger_gold not taking away gold. - Made an addition to func_monsterspawner so you can set the monster's targetname. - Included the corrected version of H2siege map. I also created a map called Ogle Village which demonstrates how to create talking villagers. You an get both files in the Files Section. 9/14/04 The Shadowlord Heretic II Siege v2.3 Beta Release Well been a while, but I got back to messing with my old H2Siege code and I finished a new release. I made a few changes to make the game play easier for attackers and made a few additions. Here's whats new: -Assassin Hide is affected by items and Attacking. -Catapult will launch players a bit father now. -Players can push load barrels onto catapults much easier now (no lifting required). -When Catapult hits its movement limit, it can now be moved back (before it would no longer move). -Fixed a crash with balista -Fixed it so chickens can't upgrade -Modified Cost of Upgrades -Reduced Starting Gold to 0 -Added trigger_gold -Kill gold rewards are now same regardless team and game setting. -Added item_gold pickup -Dismembered monsters fire targets in death correctly now. -Ballistas and Catapults now fire target when destroyed. -Increased Bloodfire damage -Catapults has damage reduction now instead of taking half damage. (Meaning it is more susceptible to heavy damage. So please treat your catapult kindly). -Add gold rewards and made other changes to h2siege map. You an get it in the Files Section. Note: If you D/L the update earlier today make sure you d/l the H2Siegev2.3Update2.zip. It includes the corrected H2Siege map. 2/7/03 The Shadowlord I was bored, so I decided to code in an Upgrade system that works with gold. Each player start with 500 gold and as they kill other players they gain more gold. Once they have enough gold, they may purchase an upgrade from a list of Upgrades, such as Blue blade, Armor increase, mana increase, health increase, and much more. I thought this would add an interesting twist. Get it in the Files Section. 6/24/02 The Shadowlord Heretic II Siege v2.1 Beta is Released. I haven't spent much time lately to test everything on my own, so I decided to release a public beta version. This version includes many fixes, additions, and two new maps. One of which is Ogle2, which is a continuation of Ogle1 map. The other is Ogle Outpost (Not tested), which is an Attackers vs Defenders map where the Attackers have to rescue the Ogles from the Defenders. This version also includes a rough chase cam, which I have not had the opportunity to test it much, so it may be buggy. You can download H2Siege v2.1 Beta in the Files Section. If any bugs are found, please send an e-mail to siege@raven-games.com with details on the bug. Thank you 12/31/01 The Shadowlord Happy New Years! I just finished updating the Screen Shots Section with images of the new Ogle Rescue Mission 2 map by Rogue Rodent. Rogue Rodent has been working hard and is doing a great job on the new map. Some old friends from Ogle1 are back, such as Cartman Ogle, Kenny Ogle, and Timmy Ogle. Rogue Rodent has also been working on a new improved version of Ogle1 "Out to Lunch". Both maps will include a new South Park Voice Pack. The maps will be release with an updated version of Heretic II Siege, which will include new entities and some minor changes. 9/22/01 The Shadowlord I updated the Classes Section to reflex the changes in Heretic II Siege v2.0. I'm also working on a new oil entity, which triggers env_fires to light when it hit by a fire attack. 6/18/01 The Shadowlord I made a quick prefab of a Siege Ramp for any mapper who is interested. This is a pushable ramp, which you can use to climb towers or walls. You can download it in the Files Section. 3/23/01 The Shadowlord Heretic II Siege v2.0 is Released! The list of fixes and additions is too long to fit here, but here are some of the things that v2.0 includes: Two new maps! One of which is the New Ogles Mission map! New Weapons! New Class abilities! New Spells! Plus many more improvements! Includes new server bat files so you run Client Servers and play the Ogle Mission on your own! We added a special surpise to the Ogle Map! I planned to release Heretic II Siege v2.0 this Sunday along with the new Ogle Mission map. We ran into some problems with the map, which delayed the release, but we eventually overcame the problem. Tomorrow I will try to run a final beta, and squish any bug or try to fix any balance issue that may arise . Assuming all goes well, you guys will be rescuing Ogles by Sunday night. Get ready to experience something that you have never experienced before. 3/10/01 The Shadowlord Just giving you an update on the progress of v2.0. I have been doing some tweaking, adding and changing a few things. I am really happy with what I have got so far and I updated all the maps. Now what does this mean? This means that I expect to release v2.0 very soon. How soon? I plan to release it in about a week, just in time for spring break. Now all that is left for me to do is finalize the new ogle map and to run a final beta test. 1/11/01 The Shadowlord Just letting you guys know that Heretic II Siege v2.0 is still under development. Rogue Rodent was gracious enough to lend his talents and work on a new Siege map. This map isn't like the the previous maps, but an Ogle Rescue Mission Map. The map is more of a Coop style map, but on a DM Siege Server. The map also includes new elements never before seen in Heretic II. I have added two new Screen Shots of new Ogle Rescue map in the Screen Shots Section. Rogue Rodent is doing a great job with the mapping and his work is very impressive. I plan to release v2.0 after the map is completed and after I have finished the beta testing. So keep an eye out for the new and improved v2.0. I would prefer to work with a mapper before the release of v2.0 so that I can give code support like I'm doing with Rogue Rodent. 9/10/00 The Shadowlord I have been busy working on the next version of Siege. I have been making some changes to the Siege. The next version will includes new weapons, new class abilities, and new spell lists for the Wizard and Necromancer, which will make them more diverse. After I finish testing I will release version 2.0 of Siege. But for now you can go to Screen Shots section and take a peek at the Succubus' grenades, the Assassin's tripmine, and at other new features. 8/5/00 The Shadowlord Good news for all you German Siege players. I just added a German translation of the Siege documents in the Files section. Thank you Honest_John for translating the documents. 8/1/00 The Shadowlord -MONSTER- was kind enough to make self extracting files for Siege. You can now download the Full Client v1.1 and you don't need to run any bat files. You don't need to download v1.0 if you download the full version. You can the files at -MONSTER-'s Domain. I also linked the files in Files section. I have added a new How To... section. This section shows you how to use the ballistas, the catapults, plus a few other things. This section provides information on how to install Siege. The section also includes information on how to configure Siege, which was provided by Hellraiser. If I have more time I will try to add more details. I hope this is useful for you new players who are installing Siege for the first time. 7/24/00 The Shadowlord Good news for the Amiga players. Amiga players no longer have to download 30 megs of models. An Amiga version of the model patch is now available. You can get the patch at http://www.hyperion-software.com/. 7/23/00 The Shadowlord Heretic II Siege Amiga port is released! You can get the files at http://www.hyperion-software.com/. A big thanks goes to hyperion-software for helping with the port. You will also need to download the client and server files from the Files section on this site. 7/21/00 The Shadowlord Good news on the Amiga front. Today we tested the Amiga Heretic II Siege files. An Amiga client connect to -MONSTER-'s server and everything worked great. Just incase you don't know, Amiga players can play on PC servers and vice versa. So Expect the Amiga version to be released very soon. I just finished updating the server files to include a new server variable to disable the precache of the player models. This update only adds the new server variable and nothing more. You don't have to update your client files. You can download the server files in the Files section. This update is mainly for the benefit of Amiga players and players with low RAM. Also note this is the PC version. 7/16/00 The Shadowlord I just noticed that my contact information was wrong. Soon all you Amiga players will be able to join in the battle. 6/30/00 The Shadowlord Heretic II Siege v1.1 Is Released! If you had problems connecting to the server, please update your files to v1.1. I have reduced connection packets sizes, which in turn reduces connection problems. What's New in v1.1: - Barrels will automatically go on top of catapult when you push a barrel against a catapult. - Assassin can now creep while hiding in shadows. - Delayed Sphere of Annihilation damage now reduces as you go farther from the center of the explosion. - Fixed the bug where the Defender of the Crown loses his flame sword after becoming a chicken. - Reduced the respawn time of the rings. - Added customizable objects (See New Entities list). - Added customizable ambient sounds (See New Entities list). - Monsters can now target and attack objects (See Altered Entities list). - Made Skull Trap spell faster. - Modified Wrath of God Spell. - A chicken player holding the key will now run slower and will not be able to fly well. - Altered the player hud. - Altered h2siege map to reduce packet size on connection. - Added death messages to plague spell. - In h2siege map defenders will take a large amount of damage if jump off the front wall before the chains are down. - Remove the Superchicken's flight ability and increased jump ability. - Defenders in chicken form can no longer pick up the Sword in the Lake. - Modified fish's targeting ai. - Fixed a problem in the trigger_multiple. - Modified Ogles with my new "Ogle Follower Intelligence Code"© for Ogles Rescue and Escort missions. - Added new team Ogles skins. - Modified catapult. When launching barrels, the distance from the center of the catapult isn't as big of a factor. - Monsters will not target players when using Hide in Shadows ability in dark places (Only monsters without nightvision). - Monsters will not target players in really dark places (Only monsters without nightvision). - Players can no longer lift objects if the player loses an arm. - Fixed a problem with dispelling chickened monsters. - Fixed under water swimming speed so that class modifiers are more effective. Note: You need to have v1.0 Client installed before installing v1.1 Client update. The Altered Entities List and the New Entities List have been updated. I have uploaded a small demo map of the Ogle Rescue and Escort Mission to give you a taste of how it is going to be like. So be sure to try it out. You can find the map in the files section. I will try to make more sample maps to help out mappers who wish to make maps for Heretic II Siege. 6/23/00 The Shadowlord Heretic II Siege site as finally moved over to raven-games.com. Now I just have to fix a few things on the page before every thing is set. I have been working on the next version of Siege. In this new version I reduce connection packet sizes in order to minimize connection problems. I made the catapults a bit more user friendly. Along with a bugs fixes, it will also include new customizable objects and customizable ambient sounds. I'm also working on the new Ogle Rescue and Escort Mission. In this mission the goal of the players is to rescue a group of Ogles and to get them safely across the map to win. If all Ogles are lost then the mission is lost. I have added my OGLE FOLLOWER INTELLIGENCE CODEã, which basically means that the Ogles on the players’ team will follow any player in site around the map. I also added a fighter Ogle, which is a more aggressive Ogle, who will fight any enemy monster or enemy player it sees. I plan to release the next version soon. Now it looks like I no longer have a mapper to help with the Ogle map, so I may just release the next version with out the Ogle map. When I find another mapper or complete the map myself, I will then release it separately. 4/25/00 DraX Heretic II Siege v1.0 has officially released!! To commemorate the release of Siege, I have redesigned the site and offered to help The Shadowlord with it's upkeep. Go grab Siege now from our Downloads section and start playing!!! 4/13/00 The Shadowlord Heretic II Siege is coming soon! I plan to release Heretic II Siege version 1.0 either this weekend or sometime next week. Hopefully by that time this site will have a new look to celebrate the release. 4/10/00 The Shadowlord Gwynhala just finished converting the Purgatori model, which I will be using for the Succubus. Head over to Classes section to check her out. You can download Purgatori at The Shrine of the Ovum. Expect to see Heretic II Siege Version 1.0 in about a week or two. I added some pictures of the new Succubus model in the Screen Shots section. I also added a sneek peek of the Cleric's new "Wrath of God" spell in the upcoming version 1.0. 3/30/00 The Shadowlord ùtøpiâ just recently interviewed me on the subject of Heretic II Siege. Thanks Balr14! 3/10/00 The Shadowlord I been working on new version of Siege and I added a new status display. So there is no need to memorize which icon is which and how much mana you need to cast a spell. The status displays class infomation and will give you information on spells such as name and cost. If you want to take peek at the status display go to the Screen Shots section. I added icons to the items section. I updated team contact information by adding the people who contributed to Siege. I also updated the Classes section with class info on the new version of Siege, which I'm currently working on. 2/27/00 The Shadowlord I have updated the Screen Shots section with a new pic of my new Siege map. 2/7/00 The Shadowlord If you use the lastest version of PingTool you don't need to use the bat file included in Siege. This is not true when you use Gamespy, since Gamespy doesn't set the game before you connect. 2/4/00 The Shadowlord Arr ther' be pirates says I! I added a new screenshot, in the Screen Shots section, of a new Ship to Ship Sea Battle Siege map that I'm currently working on. If you wish to make your own map go to the files section and download the entities lists. Siege allows you to make a variety of maps/games other then the basic game type where the defenders protect the crown and attackers try to capture the crown. For example you can make maps where both teams try to capture the other team's crown (Castle vs Castle), or have both teams try to capture the same crown (Assault), or even make coop style maps where all the players are on the same team and the monsters defend the crown. So as you can see, there are a variety of map/game types you mappers can make and choose from. In Heretic II Siege every map is a different experience. . |
