Game Play
************MENUS************
The menus has the following keys automatically bound:
F5 - toggles menu
F6 - next option
F7 - previous option
F8 - select option
**********SPECTATOR**********
All players enter the game as spectator, regardless of the mode and are shown the server's welcome menu. To join the game, the player must select the menu option. To switch between chasecam and spectator, the player must press the attack button. To go to the next player while in chasecam, defnext or jump is used. To go to the previous player, defprev or crawl is used.
**********CTF RULES**********
The goal of CTF is to capture the opposing team's flag. To accomplish this, ateam must first have their flag at their own shrine and bring the other team's flag to their shrine. A red flag must be brought to a blue shrine with the blue flag at the shrine or a blue flag must be brought to a red shrine with the red flag at the shrine in order to capture. A player can only carry the other team's flag and if that player dies while carrying the other flag, it will be dropped to the ground. If that player touches his/her own flag while not at base, it will be returned to base. If a flag is left idle for thirty(30) seconds, it will automatically return to base. A player gets fifteen(15) points if he/she captures the other team's flag and the rest of his/her team receives ten(10) points.
***********DM RULES**********
The morph ovum once picked up will transform the player into a chicken with a 90% chance of becoming a super chicken. A player while under the chicken spell is unable to pick items up, but maintains what items he/she has and can get shrines though it will not restore the player to elven form.
The silver armor shrine if touched again with perfect silver armor will yield the player with gold armor. Gold armor however, no longer reflects incoming attacks.
Tomed iron doom takes away half of a players life/armor. Teleport device is removed.
***********CLASSES************
A player's class is set by typing "msg X" where X is the number of the class. A player will change class only after being put into an arena or respawning. Setting the variable "msg" will remain the same number for future games. There are three classes available:
0 - Light - +10% speed, +15% damage received from enemies
1 - Medium - no modifications
2 - Heavy - -10% speed, -15% damage received from enemies
**********DECAY RULES*********
Decay plays like ffa, except that a player loses 1 health each second. If a player loses all life, he/she dies. All health items are removed, thus the only way to regain health is to attack other players. For each point of damage dealt to an enemy, a player receives that much back in life. Genocide occurs when a player exceeds a preset limit of health. It will then kill all other players, giving the player a point for each. The player's name and health who is closest to genocide is displayed in the bottom middle of the screen.
********CULTRING RULES********
Cultring is a mode meant for teamplay for cult matches. To create/join a team, select the teams option in the main menu. A new team can not be created once the match has begun, though a team can be joined. A match lasts for 20 minutes and does not obey fraglimit or timelimit.
**********ARENA & BLADE RULES*********
Arena supports up to 8 arenas with varying kinds. It supports each individual weapon, chicken, and all weapons as 1on1 arenas. Also it allows for ffa and teamplay to be done. Lines and respawning are automatically handled. To step out of a line select the option in the main menu. "Ready" means you are in line, while "Unready" means you are out of line. An icon above the weapon icon displays your current place. If a map other than an arena specific map is ran, it will run an arena kind determined by the server. In arena, all players have infinite ammo for weapons except tomed iron doom, with regenerative blue and green mana. All players not currently in the arena are in spectator mode.
*********VOTING SYSTEM********
When a vote is started, a red/blue icon is displayed in the top left corner and lasts for 5 seconds or until the user has voted. To vote, press F5, the menu button and it will bring the player to the current voting issue. A player's default vote is no. A vote is successful if more than half vote yes.
To start a vote, go into the menu and select the voting option. Two options will be given, Maps and Arena Settings(displayed in arena or blade mode, chicken arena can not change settings). By going into maps, a player will be shown the 7 game modes. After selecting a game mode, maps from the server rotation will be shown. Selecting a map will start a vote if a map vote is not already in progress. A map vote is shown to all players and lasts 30 seconds.
Arena settings vote allows for changing health, armor, blade level, weapons, and defenses. This vote lasts for 20 seconds and is unique to each arena.
At the end of a map and after showing the scoreboard, a menu with the maps from the current game mode appears. The players vote on these to select the next map.
*********ITEM DROPPING********
To drop an item, type "drop itenname" in the console. Droppable items:
"phoenix" - 5 phoenix arrows
"rain" - 5 rain arrows"
"hell" - 50 hell bolts
"off" - offensive mana
"def" - defensive mana
"rune" - current rune
***********GRAPPLE************
To use the grappling hook, first type bind w +hook in the console. The player will switch to the grapple when "w" is pressed. Once readied, press and hold the attack button. After the grapple hits a wall or another object, it will pull the player towards that location. To use the offhand grapple, press "w". It will launch a projectile like the normal grapple.
*************ARTIFACTS*********
There are five artifacts that are can be picked up, but due to their magical nature, a player is only able to hold one. If a player dies while carrying one of these artifacts, it will be dropped to the ground. If left untouched for a forty-five(45) seconds it will respawn in a different location.
Shield of the Hydra - 30% chance of reflecting an incoming projectile, reduces damage by 40%
Tome of the Ancients - Always tomed, increases damage dealt by 50%
Amulet of Regeneration - Restores 5 health and 5 armor each second up to 150 max each.
Elixir of the Dead - Ghost effect, stealth
Claw Blade - Triple damage, double decapitation rate
