The original composer of all the music on this site is Kevin Schilder, and he retains the copyright. Those pieces can be listened to freely, but cannot be used for any profit without Kevin's and Raven Software and Activision consent.

For OGG playback, any player listed at Ogg Vorbis software page, shall do, or at least Winamp 2.80.

Now a piece of comment. Most newer (2003) .ogg files are 48 KHz, as when quantising to 44, a subtle, but very important component of sounding gets lost. On 44 KHz soundcards, most players (like Winamp or LS-Amp or Mac-Amp or XMMS) will try to do realtime quantising that'll leave a little background noise. And, that subtle, but important part of sounding might get lost, too. But that's still better than having to quantise to 44 KHz.

Activision's position on a Heretic soundtrack CD is this: "give us a legal proposal from a recording company, and we'll probably agree". Activision won't publish an old game's soundtrack separately, but they retain the publishing rights.
