he way to beat War is use the element of (no, not Fire or Steam, hehe) of SURPRISE. Collect as much goodies as you can, but mainly be ready for him to break out from his cell. As soon as he does, rush up behind his horse and start attacking. If you stay behind him and he has yet to see you, his mighty flying blades won't find you. Eventually they will, but by then you should be able to power-up and stay alive through your attacks long enough to defeat him.
